150 come forward to donate blood at Fortis Hospital
Over 150 people donated blood at a blood donation camp and fun event held at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The organiser, CATS ( Chandigarh adventure and trekking sports) is a voluntary organization holding voluntary blood donation camps since more than 10 years and held the event in collaboration with Fortis Hospital.
This was their 33rd camp, out of which around 10 camps were held in collaboration with Fortis Blood Bank. Around 100 donors donate blood in every camp. This blood is mostly used for cardiac patients covered under rotary heartline project.
There were games and other fun activities to mark the event. Most of the camps are theme based and this camp was based on the theme Love ka Hangover as it was held in the Valentines’ Week.
Fun games were also a part of the event. In Broken Hearts, participants had to put together the broken hearts of different colours in a zig-saw style. This elicited great interest and people spent as much as 1.5hours to complete the zig-saw.
In Steal a Heart game, all donors were given a paper heart each and were asked to steal minimum 5 hearts of other participants by asking silly questions eliciting the forbidden certain words.
Musical Balloons were displayed at the entrance of IPD whereby love songs were played as cues for the participants. A 7 feet high heart shaped photo booth was also set up. Participants shared their love stories at the Jab We Met corner.
