 In pursuance with 1st meeting of the State Level Steering Committee of U.T, Chandigarh constituted under Food Safety & Standards Act, which was held on 7th December 2017 under the chairmanship Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh a team was formed in the jurisdiction of SDM(East). The team under the supervision of Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), U.T, Chandigarh along with Dr. Kamboj, Superintendent Slaughter House, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Veterinary Officer, Manimajra, Dr. N.S Bhardwaj, Dr. Amit Duggal, and Sh. S.P. Singh & Ms. Mandeep Kaur, Food & Safety Officer, Chandigarh  inspected the area of Village Daria, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh.

Various food vendors and manufacturing units were inspected and two challans of sweets manufacturing units were issued on the spot and one challan of meat shop was issued for operating under unhygienic and insanitary condition. Total about 1 quintal of sweets comprising of ladoos & patties were destroyed under Epidemic Act as the same being prepared in highly unhygienic conditions.

Further in Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh the quacks/bogus clinics were also inspected/checked and copies of their qualification were taken on the spot which would be got verified form the concerned registering/issuing authorities. The drive would be continued in coming days in the respective area of East Sub Division.
