Action by Chandigarh Police against bursting of Fire Crackers in impermissible time limit and cases registered against them for disobeying orders of Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh
As per direction of Hon’ble Court, bursting of fire crackers was only permissible between 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on 07.11.2018. To follow these directions of Hon’ble Court the sufficient force was deployed to maintain law and order in the city by Chandigarh Police. The orders of Deputy Commissioner UT Chandigarh U/S 144 Cr.P.C. regarding bursting/selling of fire crackers between 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on 07.11.2018 was followed as per directions and legal action were taken against the violators. Total 28 cases U/S 188 IPC were registered between 05.11.2018 to 07.11.2018 against the persons who were selling fire crackers without permit and also against persons who were bursting fire crackers beyond permissible time limit. The detail of cases U/S 188 IPC is as under:-
- Total 28 cases registered U/S 188 IPC till 07.11.2018
- Total 20 cases were registered U/S 188 IPC in which total 18 persons were arrested who were bursting fire crackers beyond the permissible time limit till 07.11.2018.
- Besides this, 08 cases were registered U/S 188 IPC on 05.11.2018, 06.11.2018 & 07.11.2018 in which total 08 persons were arrested who were selling fire crackers without permit or license.
No untoward incident was reported during this festival season and situation remained peaceful in the city.
