Divya Drishti Cameras and Towed Vehicle App launched by Governor of Punjab-cum- Administrator, UT, Chandigarh during Road Safety Week-2018
Today i.e on 24.04.2018 at 10:30 AM, His Excellency Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab -cum- Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, launched Towed Vehicle App and Divya Drishti Cameras during a road safety programme organized by Chandigarh Traffic Police as part of Road Safety Week-2018 at Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh.
Sh. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Tajender Singh Luthra, IPS, DGP/UT along with other senior officers of Police Department were present on this occasion. Divya Drishti Camera project is for live supervision of special checking undertaken by personnel of traffic police officials using modern CCTV and mobile technology.
The Towed Vehicle search App is for reducing inconvenience caused to citizens whose vehicles have been towed away by Chandigarh Traffic Police and to facilitate the release of such vehicles as per law.
During the function Hon’ble Governor also released Road Accident Analysis Book -2018 which is a very informative booklet on analyses of fatal and non-fatal accidents in the city in the year 2017.
On this occasion, Nursing students from PGI performed a skit on “Road Safety” and a song on road safety was also sung by HC Bhupinder Singh.
