Over 400 orthopedic surgeons from India and select parts of the world have confirmed participation at the event which is designed, as the name suggests, to allow participants to catch up with the latest trends in the field of orthopedics and provide a strong platform for academia-industry interaction.

Key highlights this year include ten live surgeries, Keynote addresses on critical aspects of knee and hip surgeries, case-based panel discussions, free papers and hands-on workshops for experiential learning in an ambience that will foster good networking amongst orthopedic specialists. Special sessions on bariatric and liver are other attractions.

More than 30 eminent orthopedic surgeons, including three international faculties, will address the audiences. A trade exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the mega event. The live surgeries, including complex total knee replacement (TKR) and total hip replacement (THR), will be broadcast live from the Shalby Hospital in Mohali.

Says Dr. Vikram I. Shah, Chairman, Shalby Hospitals, who is the Chief Patron of Orthotrends: “Over the years, Orthotrends has grown to become India’s premier platform for the orthopedic community, including seasoned orthopedics and budding professionals alike, to acquire new knowledge and skillsets and boost their learning curve. Its previous editions held at Ahmedabad, Indore and Jaipur were a great success. Unlike other ortho meets which merely focus on training and published literature, Orthotrends is conceptualized to provide a much wider platform to learn from the stalwarts of the specialty from India and abroad.
Dr. Mandeep S Dhillon, Professor & Head, Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery, PGIMER, Chandigarh, is also a patron of Orthotrends 2018, along with Dr. Vikram I. Shah.

The sessions at Orthotrends 2018 will focus on current concepts like the evolving trends in the management of OA, bariatric surgery, replacement surgery, etc.; challenging cases in total knee replacement (TKR) and total hip replacement (THR) and avoiding adverse outcomes; prosthetic joint infections; painful TKR; Revision TKR and THR; Partial Knee Replacement, and so on.
