Soaring Eagles soar high at 8th Satluj Rock Show Competition

 Soaring Eagles, rock band from St. Johns High School, Chandigarh bagged the first prize at Galactica, 8th annual Satluj rock show held here at Satluj Public School in Sector 4.

Senior wing of the Satluj Public School, organised the rock concert in which seven rock bands from tricity participated in the event. The participating schools were St. John’s High School, Chandigarh; Satluj Public School, Panchkula; Bhawan Vidyalaya, Panchkula; Paragon Senior Secondary School, Mohali; Delhi Public World School, Zirakpur; Saupins School, Chandigarh and Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Mohali.

First Runners-Up Band was Dark Radiance, Satluj Pulic School, Panchkula, while Second Runners-Up Band was The Teenage Core of Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Mohali. Best Vocalist went to Ishaav from Satluj Public School, Panchkula, while Best Key Board Player was Abhiuday from Satluj Public School, Panchkula. Best Guitarist prize went to Abhay Nihal from Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Mohali, while Best Preccussionist was Shauryamaan from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula.

Prizes were awarded in different categories. Principal Krit Serai was the Chief Guest. He said, “Rock Show is platform to encourage Rock Music and give an opportunity to youngsters to showcase their talent. This is the first school in Panchkula to ever organize a Rock Show.”

Special Guests were Mr. Manav Ahuja, RJ from My FM 94.3. English dances were also presented. Judges were Lead Vocalist Paras Jetly, Lead Guitarist Nitin Bhasin, Mr. Aman Brar, (Drummer), Ms. Ira Korpal (Finalist Ms. Punjab), Mr. Gagan Chahal (Mr. Punjab/ Actor/Model) and Ms. Anastasia from Russia. Mr. Paras Jetly gave a scintillating performance at the end. Mr. Reekrit Serai, Dean and organizer of the event gave the concluding speech.
