Today i.e. 30.04.2018, on the concluding day of 29th National Road Safety Week-2018 under the theme “Sadak Suraksha–Jeevan Raksha”, Road Safety Function was organized at Vivek High School, Sector-38, Chandigarh. Sh. Shashank Anand, SSP–Security & Traffic, UT Chandigarh was the chief guest. During function, Sh. Rajeev Ambasta, DSP (South) gave a presentation regarding activities done by Chandigarh Traffic Police during this 29th National Road Safety Week i.e. Cyclothon/Walkathon, Female two wheeler rider Helmet Rally, Launch of Divya Drishti Cameras, Towing Away Vehicle App. Blood Donation & Medical Camp, Nukkad Natak on Road Safety, Road Safety Awareness Campaigns in 5 schools each day, distribution of key rings and stickers to good drivers who were following traffic rules property, affixing of No Honking Stickers and Stickers to female two wheeler riders that Helmet Saves her head too. Traffic Marshal C.S. Grewal (Retd. Wing Commander) also gave a presentation on Road Accident and Road Safety. Sh. Shashank Anand, SSP–Security & Traffic gave four challenges to the Vivek High School i.e. they should not allow anybody around the school premises, to blow horn of their vehicles, whether school bus or private vehicle, they should get fitted seat belts for students in their school buses, they should motivate parents of children as well as teachers about car pooling, they should deploy their students for 15 minutes at the time of beginning and for 15 minutes at the time of closing of school for traffic management outside the school, in order to make the school one of the best school in the Country.
Sh. Yashpal Vinayak, DSP-Traffic (Admn. & East), Sh. Dilsher Singh, Inspector (Admn. & Central) Smt. Sita Devi, Inspector (I/C–CTP, Social Media Cell & South-West), Inspector Sukhdeep Singh (South-East), staff of Chandigarh Traffic Police and Traffic Marshals were present in the function. About 800 school students witnessed the function.
