Chandigarh Traffic Police is observing 29th Road Safety Week-2018 under the theme “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha” w.e.f. 23rd to 30th April, 2018. During this week, today i.e. 26.04.2018, a Rally of around 300 Female Two Wheeler Riders was organized by Chandigarh Traffic Police, which was flagged off from P.G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh to UIET, Sector 25, Chandigarh (about 3 km journey) by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Smt. Alka Singh. Around 200 helmets were distributed to the Female Two Wheeler Riders, who participated in this Rally.
Before the flag-off, a function on Road Safety was organized in the auditorium of P.G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh. The function began with Ganesh Stuti performed by college students and was followed by a Skit on Road Safety by Traffic Marshals, Presentation on Importance of wearing protective head gear while riding a two wheeler given by Dr. Guneet Singh, Road Safety Specialist and Gidha dance performance by Women Constables of Chandigarh Police.
During the function and Flagging off Rally, Smt. Simarpreet Luthra W/o Sh. Tajinder Singh Luthra, DGP, Chandigarh, Sh. Shashank Anand, SSP/Traffic & Sec., Smt.Vasundhra Dalal Anand W/o Sh. Shashank Anand, SSP/Traffic & Sec., Sh. Rajeev Ambasta, DSP-Traffic (South, R & D), Sh. Yashpal Vinayak, DSP-Traffic (Admn.), Sh. S.P.S.Sondhi, DSP-Traffic (Central), Smt. Rashmi Sharma Yadav, DSP-CCIC, Smt. Harjit Kaur, SDPO-South, Lady Inspectors of Chandigarh Police, Smt. Benu Dogra, Principal of P.G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh, Mrs. Sartaj Lamba, Member of Rotary Club and Traffic Marshals were also present. About 700 persons witnessed the function.
