2Day 11th GTA Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship by Emerald Martial Arts Academy takes off

The two-day 11th GTA Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship was grandly organized by Emerald Martial Arts Academy at the Skating Rink, Sector 10, Chandigarh. The championship was led by the Academy Director, Master Shiv Raj Gharti. On the first day, players participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and delivered outstanding performances. The participants were later honored with medals.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest was Ramesh Kumar, Managing Director of Khauri Builders & Developers (KBD) Group. The Guests of Honour included Nutritionist and Fitness Consultant Aman Khurana and KBD CEO Anil Kumar, who encouraged and motivated the players.

Children and athletes aged between 3 and 45 years participated in the championship. The event was organized in four major categories: Kyorugi (Fighting), Poomsae (Forms), Giyokappa (Breaking), and Speed Kicking. Participants from various states showcased their exceptional skills, and many players proved their talent by winning medals.

The championship witnessed participation from over 1,000 contestants from the Tricity region, more than 200 participants from 10 states across the country, 43 schools from Tricity, and 28 schools from 10 other states. On the final day of the competition, a Tag Team Championship will be held, and the winning team will be awarded.

Directors of Emerald Martial Arts Academy, Master Shiv Raj Gharti and Kavita Rai Gharti, stated that the main objective of the event is to provide a platform for Taekwondo players to showcase their talent and experience a sense of inspiration and pride.


Competition Results

Age Group 3–7 Years (PV Category):
Sanaya Tamang won Gold, Ritisha Dhiman won Silver, and Meher Katyal secured Bronze.

Age Group 8–11 Years  Gitls Sub-Junior Category (Fighting):
Paridhi Sharma and Divyansh Yadav won Gold medals;
Alankrita Mishra, Amiti Mehra, and Riyan Sharma won Silver;
Tanya Kashyap and Srishti Dhiman secured Bronze medals.

In the same category (Boys), Daivajna Bhasin won Gold, while Rudra Atharva secured Bronze.

Poomsae Category:
Garvit Patel and Aadriti Gupta won Gold;
Aadhrit Singh Rana and Ditya Dawar won Silver;
Atharv Sharma and Pragati Mahajan secured Bronze medals.
