CM- Meets Swing Accident Victims Admitted in Hospital

Following the recent swing accident at Surajkund Mela, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the fair premises today and met the three injured persons admitted to Supreme Hospital, Faridabad. The Chief Minister enquired about their health and wished them a speedy recovery. He assured the victims that the government stands firmly with them. He termed the incident unfortunate and said the government is taking it very seriously. He also assured that the entire cost of treatment of the injured will be borne by the Haryana Government.

Expressing condolences over the martyrdom of Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who lost his life in the accident, the Chief Minister said that the government will provide a government job and financial assistance to his family. He further stated that to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future, a “Swing Safety Policy” will be formulated, aimed at ensuring the safety of swings and amusement rides, thereby strengthening public safety.

On this occasion, Haryana BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta, Haryana Tourism MD Parth Gupta, DC Ayush Sinha, and CMO Jayant Ahuja were also present.

Haryana Government Enhances Social Security Pensions to Rs 3,200 per Month

In a significant step towards strengthening social security and welfare support, Haryana Government has enhanced the monthly pension and financial assistance under various Social Security Pension/Allowance Schemes from Rs 3000 per month to Rs 3200 per month.

As per the notification issued by the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA), the revised rates will be effective from November 1, 2025, and the enhanced amount will be disbursed from February 2026. This decision reflects the State Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the social security framework and ensuring financial dignity for beneficiaries.

The increase of Rs 200 per month covers major schemes including the Old Age Samman Allowance Scheme, Ladli Social Security Pension scheme, Pension to Persons with Disabilities, Pension to Dwarfs, Financial Assistance to Destitute Women and Widows, Financial Assistance to Widower and Unmarried Persons Scheme 2023, Financial Assistance to Persons suffering from rare diseases, Financial Assistance for Stage-III and IV Cancer Patients, and Pension to Eunuchs.

In addition, the Government has also enhanced assistance under other welfare schemes. Financial Assistance to Non-School Going Differently Abled Children has been increased from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,600 per month. Assistance to Destitute Children has been raised from Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,300 per month for one child and from Rs 4,200 to Rs 4,600 per month for two children. Financial Assistance to Kashmiri Migrant Families settled in Haryana has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,700 per month for one person, with the maximum family limit enhanced from Rs 7,500 to Rs 8,500.

Further, financial assistance to Acid Attack Victims has also been enhanced across all disability categories. In 40 to 50 % degree of disability category, assistance has been raised from Rs 7500 per month to Rs 8000 per month, in 50 to 60 % category, assistance raised from Rs 10500 to Rs 11200  and in 60% and above category, the financial assistance increased from Rs 13500 to Rs 14400 per month.

The Haryana Government remains committed to inclusive development and continues to take proactive steps to safeguard the interests and welfare of senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities, and other disadvantaged sections of society.

Khelo India Centres for 15 Sports to be opened in Mahendragarh

In a significant step toward nurturing sports talent in the state and preparing future Olympic champions, the government has taken an important initiative. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has approved 139 additional Khelo India Centres across the country. Under this initiative, centres for 15 different sports disciplines will also be established in Mahendragarh district.

A spokesperson of the Sports Department informed that centres are planned to be set up in the district for the following 15 sports disciplines: Taekwondo, Wushu, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Kurash, Rowing, Kayaking and Canoeing, Sailing, Shooting, Cycling, Gymnastics, Sepak Takraw, Equestrian (Horse Riding), Squash, and Golf.

He further stated that priority for establishing these centres will be given to institutions that have adequate playgrounds and modern training infrastructure for sports. Institutions providing boarding facilities for players and having an excellent track record in sports development and athlete performance will also be preferred.

He added that a key objective of this government scheme is also to provide employment and coaching opportunities to former champion athletes. Interested institutions or eligible athletes may submit their applications at the District Sports Office located at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium.

Haryana First State to Form Industry–Labour Friendly Council: CM

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state government’s primary focus is on ensuring a developed industrial sector and workforce to accelerate the overall progress of the state.

The Chief Minister was chairing the first meeting of the “Industry–Labour Friendly Council” in Chandigarh. On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Commissioner and Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Sh. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Sh. Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Yash Pal, along with other senior officials and Council members, were present.

Nayab Singh Saini, who is the Chairperson of the Council, stated that no state can achieve economic progress unless industries function smoothly and workers remain prosperous and satisfied. Harmony between these two sections is essential. Keeping this spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding in mind, the “Industry–Labour Friendly Council” has been constituted. Haryana is the first state in the country to establish such a Council.

He said that the government is working on the policy of ensuring “Ease of Doing Business” for industries and “Ease of Living” for workers. The Council will also review government announcements related to industries and labour, provide suggestions regarding worker safety, resolution of industrial disputes, and upgrading skill development in technical institutions such as ITIs.

The Chief Minister further said that special emphasis will be laid on increasing the productivity of workers employed in the state’s industries through this Council. Higher productivity will contribute to an increase in GDP, which is the foundation of national and state development.

Nayab Singh Saini stated that nearly two lakh micro and medium enterprises in Haryana were operating outside industrial areas and were unable to avail several facilities. The government launched a portal on December 25, 2025, enabling these industries to register and become regularized, thereby allowing them to benefit from various government schemes.

He informed that issues related to the transfer of plots from Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to HSIIDC in certain industrial areas have also been resolved. Similarly, the government has approved providing land at concessional rates for ESIC hospitals for industrial workers. The process of constructing affordable dormitory housing for workers in industrial areas is progressing swiftly. In districts facing space constraints in industrial areas, multi-level parking facilities will also be developed.

The Chief Minister added that the state government is making continuous efforts to further improve the industrial environment in Haryana to attract more investments. This will help achieve Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat–2047.”

State-Level Coordination Committee Constituted Under Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi for PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

The Haryana Government has constituted a State-Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi for the effective implementation and comprehensive monitoring of the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at the state level.

According to a notification issued by the Energy Department, the Committee will include the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Energy Department, Housing and Urban Affairs Department, and Rural Development Department; the Chairman of the State Level Bankers’ Committee; and the Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers of Haryana’s power distribution companies (UHBVN and DHBVN) as members. In addition, the Principal Secretary, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department, and the Director General, New and Renewable Energy Department, Energy Department, will serve as special invitees.

For better implementation of the scheme, the state government may include other concerned officials in the SLCC as required. The Committee may also invite Secretaries of other Ministries/Departments, other officials, or non-government experts for deliberations to ensure effective and timely execution of the scheme.

The Committee’s mandate includes regular review of all components of the scheme, establishing coordination among various departments, preparing an action plan for installation of rooftop solar plants on all government buildings, monitoring the progress of rooftop solar installations in government buildings, and ensuring inter-departmental coordination to maximize awareness, capacity building, and promotion of rooftop solar installations. The Committee will also coordinate with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, and provide suggestions for better implementation of the scheme.

The designated State Implementing Agency for the PM-Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme will provide necessary office support to the Committee.

HSPCB Issues 1,849 Challans in Major Crackdown on Plastic Pollution

The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has further strengthened its enforcement drive to ensure effective control of plastic pollution and protection of the environment in strict compliance with the rules and guidelines notified by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

          The Board has issued directions to all Regional Officers and field staff to ensure strict implementation of the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, along with amendments notified in 2018, 2021 and 2022, and the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Guidelines, 2022.

          A department spokesperson said during the last four weeks (from 24th December 2025 to 20th January 2026), extensive enforcement action was carried out across the State, during which a total of 1849 challans were issued. An amount of ₹15,97,300/- was imposed as environmental compensation/penalty on defaulting entities for violations of the Plastic Waste Management Rules.

          The Board has clarified that segregation, collection, transportation, processing and scientific disposal of plastic waste is mandatory under the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. Compliance is being ensured through regular inspections, online data verification and a robust monitoring mechanism.

          In cases of non-compliance, stringent action including issuance of show cause notices, imposition of environmental compensation and closure directions shall be initiated. All officers have been instructed to follow a zero-tolerance policy in enforcement.

          The Haryana State Pollution Control Board reiterated that protection of the environment and public health remains its highest priority and appeals to all stakeholders to extend full cooperation for achieving a clean, safe and plastic-free Haryana.
