Department of Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration opened its 43rd e-Sampark Centre in Sector -45 for the citizens. Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh inaugurated this new e-sampark centre here today in the presence of Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Special Secretary Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration, Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Director Information Technology. e-sampark centre sector – 45 has a new dedicated building which is strategically located. Opening of this centre will further strengthen the network of sampark centres in city and will make the public services more accessible to the residents. This was a much needed e-sampark centre as there was huge demand of a full fledge e-sampark centre in Sector – 45 which can cater to the increasing footfall of residents and dealers to avail the services. This e-sampark Centre will be have 5 counters with state of the art IT infrastructure to deliver all 78G2C, G2B & B2C services efficiently. Newly opened e-sampark centre sector – 45 will be equipped to render services like CTU bus pass, utility telephone bills; BSNL, Airtel & HFCL, space booking, e-file service, traffic challans payments, CHB payments, RTI Application and many more via digital payments by paying through credit and debit cards. Earlier only a limited number of services like electricity, water bill payment etc could be paid through POS machines. More POS machines are also being placed to increase the capacity of transactions at e-Sampak transactions and facilitate the residents. Sampark Chandigarh is already playing a pivotal role in cashless push in Chandigarh by not accepting cash above Rs. 2000/- and providing multiple payment mechanisms like online payments (sampark.chd.nic.in) and mobile payments Besides, residents can also make payment through cheques, demand draft and pay orders also. This new centre will also have facility to make Aadhar enrollment and corrections/editing.
The citizens are already paying their utility bills i.e electricity & water bills through POS machines free of cost(No service/other fees are chargeable) at any of the centre in urban area from 8 am to 8 pm and rural centres from 9 am to 6 pm and also paying utility bills, property tax and VAT payments through an online portal viz. www.sampak.chd.nic.in. The portal provides facility for making payments through debit card, credit card, internet banking and mobile payments through user friendly mobile app ‘e-payment Chandigarh’ is easily downloadable from the Google app store which is being widely used by the residents.
