
Taking a significant step towards environmental conservation and youth awareness, the I J Doda Foundation organised a large-scale environmental workshop at the Punjab School Education Board Auditorium, under its “Shudh Hawa – Swachh Punjab” campaign. The event witnessed participation from around 450 attendees.
The workshop was conducted under the Environment Compensation Funds in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and supported by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Punjab.
Experts led detailed sessions on critical topics such as air pollution, its impact on health and the environment, and the role of effective waste management. Addressing the participants, Foundation President Jonita Doda emphasised the need for behavioural change and individual responsibility to tackle environmental and climate challenges effectively.
Dr Amar Pal Singh, Chairman of the Punjab School Education Board, attended as the Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative, highlighting the importance of environmental education in shaping responsible citizens. Senior journalist Sardar Manjeet Singh Sidhu graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and stressed the importance of public awareness and community participation.
Key contributions were made by PSCST Executive Director Er Preetpal Singh, Joint Director Dr K.S. Bath, and Project Scientist Dr Mandakini Thakur. District Education Officer Ginny Duggal also played a vital role in ensuring school participation.
Over 150 saplings and IEC materials were distributed, and participants took a pledge to adopt environmentally responsible practices, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to “Planet Over Profit.”
