Sony SAB – Aladdin Naam Toh Suna Hoga Ready interview – Gulfam Khan (Chachi)
Q: Tell us about your role as ‘Chachi’ in Sony SAB’s show Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga.
Gulfam: Nazneen chachi is the perfect embodiment of ‘evil’, brings woe to anyone who crosses her path and she is the main reason behind all the domestic troubles Aladdin and Ammi face. She is a deadly combination of jealousy, greed, misery and wickedness. It can’t get worse.
Q: Do you remember reading Aladdin while growing up? Who is your favourite Aladdin character?
Gulfam: Of course I have read about Aladdin and his adventures. In fact, one of our uncles used to make up fictitious Aladdin adventures and concoct some story to tell us in the evenings. My favourite character is Genie (well, what do you expect, he has magic)
Q: How has the experience of shooting with the cast been, till date?
Gulfam: Wonderful… I have known Smita before and we have also done a project together, but our bond has deepened in the last month. Siddharth is an amazing actor. His manners and warmth are utterly charming and highlight his impeccable upbringing. I get along very well with our genie, Vikas and Badar, too. The direction team, headed by Maan Sir, is very efficient and brings out the best in us. All in all, we have a great team here on the sets.

Q: You are known to be highly Tech Savvy. Which is that one gadget you would create if you had the power to?
Gulfam: I don’t know about tech savvy, but gadgets have always fascinated me – whether it is the simple physics of a top rotating on its pin head or the cool electronic gadgets that have taken over. I am lucky to own a few things. If I were to design and invent a gadget, it would definitely be the teleporter or the time machine. It would help me visit different times and eras. In fact, my favourite super hero is “Dr Strange.”
Q: What can the audience look forward to in the show?
Gulfam: Newness. Sony SAB’s Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga is a package of fun, action, emotions, fantasy, love and intense drama. It is a package you ought not to miss.
Q: How has your journey in the entertainment industry been till date?
Gulfam: Entertaining… It’s been so fabulous and marvellous that I thank God for it. I have been very lucky with the choicest of roles and amazing teams to work with.
