In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 42 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 43 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 6 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-19 = 2 cases, PS-IA = 4 cases, PS-IT Park = 6 cases, PS-MJ = 3 cases, PS-31 = 2 cases, PS-49 = 2 cases, PS-34 = 2 cases, PS-36 = 7 cases, PS-39 = 4 cases & PS-Maloya = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Action against Gambling
Chandigarh Police arrested Rahul R/o # 718/12, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, R/o # 701/5, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh and Sikandar R/o # 139, Ph-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Kerosene Pump BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarhand recovered cash Rs. 2830/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 153, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. All later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for Theft
Sh. Brij Mohan R/o Guga Mari, Village-Kansal, (PB) alleged that Navi @ Devinder Singh R/o Labour Chowk, Sector-20, Chandigarh was caught while he stolen complainant’s mobile phone at ISBT, Sector 17, Chandigarh on 06.05.2018. A case FIR No. 140, U/S 379, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
