Super Mom contest was held in Zirakpur

Nearly 70 enthusiastic women participated in a unique, one- of -its kind third edition of Super Mom contest that was held in Zirakpur on Sunday. The event was hosted by Trinity hospital on the behalf of its foundation Trinity Research Education and Foundation. The foundation supports various causes like women empowerment and believes that every woman, even the homemakers should be given a platform to realize their dreams and passions.  As part of this endeavor, the hospital has already adopted villages wherein they are supporting the girl child and working on women empowerment as well.

The contest witnessed the multi tasking rounds where moms were asked to come up with the healthy food recipes. The panel of five judges also checked their awareness on kids’s requirements for healthy growing up. Contestants were asked many questions during the fun games and they also walked on the ramp. They also walked along with the child showcasing the strong bond of more and child.

The event was graced by Kalpana Thakur, Mrs Asia Pacific from Himachal Pradesh who is also a social activist was the chief guest for the occasion. Kalpana also won the best social worker award for the year 2012. This enthusiastic woman goes to villages teaching other women and youngsters about loving the young environment. While addressing the super moms, Kalpana Thakur said, “We tend to ignore the selfless service that mothers do, through the Super Mom contest, we want to tell people that moms are the greatest human beings on earth. We also want to tell these moms that they should keep their dreams alive and work towards it.”

On this occasion, a newsletter on healthy living was released. In addition to this, 5 underprivileged girls were also honoured and were given scholarships along with hygiene kits. A bright cultural show was put up by the contestants. Healthy doses on healthy recipes were also shared during this event.

According to Mahender Kaushal, Chairman of Trinity Hospital, “Super Mom is a part of the CSR activity. Under this activity, we are trying to motivate women to come out of their four walls and express themselves and their dream. We have also adopted villages in this regard, where we inform women about the various opportunities available from them.”

Dr Kamla Kaushal shares the same opinion. “I see mother and kid as the most beautiful relationship, this is why we need to focus more on their health and well-being.”
