What Are the Three Types of Electronic Air Pressure Regulators?

The electronic air pressure regulator has numerous pros over mechanical controllers. A mechanical pressure controller manages the downstream pressure and effectively offers a constant flow rate. In most applications, the downstream flow pressure will often fluctuate. Pumps & compressors deliver pulses along with the fluctuations of pressure with demand. When the air pressure control valves lack preciseness and don’t respond quickly. In this article, we are going to mention three types of electronic pressure controllers.

Types of Pressure Controllers:

There are many different ways of controlling the pressure of liquids & gasses. Here we are going to going to present a brief overview of these methods. And we also discuss a few common uses and applications for each type.

Pressure Reducing Regulators:

The electronic air pressure regulator is capable of reducing the high supply pressure at the inlet down to the regulated lower pressure at the outgoing side. These electronic pressure control valve has different shapes, sizes, and a wide range of technologies. Any control valve is said to be a decreasing pressure regulator as it opens or closes the valve, which allows greater or lower pressure. A few of the air regulation methods use the input & output pressure measurements to set the manual or electronic setpoints. Other methods usually create less or more restricted paths for the output. The common technologies include mechanical signals, needle valves, single valve pressure controllers, and two-stage regulators.

Common applications of Proportional Air Regulators:

The most common applications of air pressure controllers include welding, leak testing, gas mixing, automotive paints, and fuel cell testing.

Back Pressure Regulators:

The back pressure electronic air pressure regulator is specially designed to manage the restrictions on the system’s outgoing. This is because to control the pressure of air, which builds or releases the upstream of the device. The pressure of the gas increases the set point, and then the control pressure regulator opens to relieve the pressure. These devices need measuring upstream pressure along with increasing or decreasing the restriction at the outlet of the system.

Common Applications of Back Pressure Regulator:

The back air pressure controllers are used in applying control pressure, chromatography, analysis, pressure relief & safety, and compressor testing.

Closed Volume Pressure Controllers:

Both the electronic air pressure regulator & back pressure regulators are usually the single valve system. Both these devices are designed to control the pressure in the air flowing systems. These air pressure regulators are commonly used with the two proportional valves when working in closed or dead-end volumes. The inlet valve allows the pressure of liquids or gasses into the system while the exhausted valve relieves the pressure with these pressure-controlling valves. The dome-loaded air pressure controller uses the close volume pressure controllers for controlling their internal mechanical setpoints.

Common applications of Closed Volume Pressure Controllers:

Close volume pressure regulators are commonly used in microfluidic control, fluid dispensing, and sensor testing.
