World Food Day celebrated at Indus Public School under the theme to save food
Indus Public School took initiative to raise awareness on food security by mobilizing resources to support the poor farmers on World Food Day .The significant day was celebrated while informing importance of valuable facts about healthy food habits with children. The students were made aware about not to waste food and how to keep themselves healthy. Interactive session was also held with the students wherein the students classified their queries
Col. C.S Cheema Director & Col. S.P.S Cheema Manager of the school explained that it is utmost responsibility of every individual to strengthen national and international solidarity in the fight to end hunger, malnutrition and poverty. They further added that with falling water tables, eroding soils and raising temperatures, where it is difficult to feed growing population, a global struggle to secure food is a big challenge. Avoiding wastage of food is imperative for food security. Hereby, a little initiative taken by the Students is praiseworthy and it also inculcates in them a sense of responsibility and commitment towards society and nation.
According to Parampreet Principal of the school we integrate the education and health to provide healthy learning environment to all the children under the its umbrella through empowering and enriching teachers and parents with the awareness and motivating the students help themselves in the process of learning.
