In the first match of Pool-A, Minerva started well, but there was a mistake in defense. While responding to Haryana’s attack, the ball went into Minerva’s goalpost and the score became 0-1. After trailing by one goal, Minerva Public School came back and intensified the attack. This time the goal could not come and the first half ended with a score of 0-1.
In the second half, Minerva intensified the attack and a few minutes later Gurtej vir Singh equalized the team. In the 32nd minute of the match, he made the score 1-1. After this, the team was continuously making moves and Haryana players were on defense. L. Kipgen gave Minerva the second success. He made the score 2-1 and registered the first victory with this score. Now Minerva Public School will face IPSC.
Just a day before, the organizers of Subroto Cup had taken action against the teams for playing overage players and had excluded them. In this, 21 teams were excluded and only 13 teams were found correct. The players of Minerva Public School were found correct and not even one player was overage. This proves that the team is moving in the right direction and is also following the right path.
Minerva had recently defeated the world’s big teams on its European tour. The team that reached the final of the Helsinki Cup had to face a 0-1 defeat in the final, but the team captured the title in the Gothia Cup. After this, the team inscribed its name on the pages of history by winning the Dana Cup and Norway Cup. The team also made many records on this tour.
