
Chandigarh: Altruistian will face Capital Strikers in the first semifinal, while Chandigarh Kings will lock horns with Panchkula Bashers in the second semifinal of the Chandigarh Premier League, being organized by the UT Cricket Association at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Altruistian registered a crucial 18-run win over Talanoa Tigers in the Chandigarh Premier League T20 at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Altruistian posted 155/7, powered by Sanchit Sahu’s 58 off 53 balls and quick cameos from unbeaten Harshit Singh (23 off 11) and Pardeep Yadav (23 off 14). For the Tigers, Gaurav Gambhir (3/27) and Hardik Chowdhry (2/21) impressed with the ball.
Chasing 156, Talanoa started well with Nehal Pajni (53) and Jashan Beniwal (37 off 27), but a middle-order collapse saw them bowled out for 137 in 19.4 overs. Rahul Singh’s brilliant 4/15, supported by Aryan Duggal (3/31) and Nikhil Sharma (2/37) sealed the victory for Altruistian.
Earlier in the day, Capital Strikers registered a dominant nine-wicket win over Panchkula Bashers. After opting to bat first, Bashers struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 84 runs in 18.2 overs. Ankit Kaushik (20) and Devang Kaushik (20) managed to offer some resistance. The highlight of the innings was a sensational spell from Amrit Lubana (5/13) who was adjudged player of the match.

Chasing a modest target, the Strikers’ innings was anchored by opener Arjun Azad who played a fluent knock of 50 runs off 51 deliveries studded with eight boundaries. With Nipun Sharda remaining unbeaten on 16, the Capital Strikers reached the target comfortably at 85/1 in 15 overs. Rahul Singh was declared player of the match.
