Ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF), Amazon India is gearing up to meet rising customer demand across high-growth categories such as home, kitchen & outdoors, smartphones, electronics, fashion, grocery, and more. Strengthening its infrastructure in Punjab, Amazon India has expanded its operations network with a new Fulfillment Centre in Rajpura, empowering local sellers to serve customers faster while also creating hundreds of new job opportunities in the region. Punjab has over 46,000 sellers across categories like sports, apparel, beauty, and kitchen already selling on the online marketplace.

This festive season, customers in Chandigarh are showing a marked preference for premium products across all categories. Notably, the Home, Kitchen & Outdoors category has emerged as a key growth driver for Amazon.in across Chandigarh and Punjab, reflecting on how customers are upgrading their homes to celebrate the season with comfort and style. The category witnessed a strong double-digit growth in both the regions along with a 20% increase in new customers across the state, signaling strong festive momentum.

In Punjab, customers are embracing smarter, healthier, and more sustainable living by upgrading their homes with bedroom, outdoor, and dining furniture alongside appliances that enhance everyday comfort. Chandigarh stood out as a key growth hub, with demand for air purifiers (45% YoY growth), dehumidifiers (105% YoY), and solar solutions (30% YoY) rising sharply. The city also witnessed strong momentum in fitness and mobility, with treadmills (70% YoY) and weight training equipment (35% YoY) gaining popularity, while across the state, two-wheeler sales surged 30% YoY, led by Chetak, Vida, Ola, Bajaj and Hero. Shoppers in Chandigarh further fueled growth in home décor and home improvement categories with lighting fixtures, kitchen linen, laundry & bath organization, and waste & recycling products growing by 70% YoY. Furniture remained a customer favorite with robust demand for bedroom furniture (50% YoY), outdoor furniture (30% YoY), dining furniture (20% YoY), and sideboards & cabinets (20% YoY).

To serve rising demand during the upcoming festive season, Amazon announced a major expansion of its operations network with the launch of 12 new fulfillment centers (FCs) and six new Sort centers (SCs) in India. As part of this expansion, Amazon has launched 1 new FC in Rajpura helping sellers in the region serve customers faster and creating hundreds of local work opportunities. In Punjab, Amazon now has a robust fulfilment and logistics network comprising of one FC, 45 delivery stations and one sort center that enable fast and reliable deliveries for customers across the State.

Customers can also enjoy the added advantages of Amazon Pay and Prime with Prime members getting fast delivery, exclusive savings, and entertainment benefits, while Amazon Pay enables secure, seamless, and rewarding transactions across festive purchases. Customers can choose from various Prime Plans: Annual Prime at ₹1,499 (full benefits), Prime Lite at ₹799 (full shopping, limited video), or Prime Shopping Edition at ₹399 (shopping benefits only).
