Asthma awareness programme held
Panchkula, May 6: To mark World Asthma Day, an awareness programme followed by a CME was be held at District Civil Hospital, Panchkula on Monday. The program was organized in association of Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula.
Addressing CME, Dr Vishal Sharma, consultant-pulmonary medicine said that there are new medicines and devices which deliver the drugs directly and consistently to lungs and thereby offering complete control of the disease. Thus one should not stop medicines and visit doctor regularly to eradicate asthma completely.
Controlling current status of asthma all around the world is very necessary as it has become the responsibility of all the medical professionals and not only the patients. Asthma management requires collaborative efforts of the patients, asthma carers, health professionals, community health groups and other health care systems globally, Dr Vishal maintained.

During occasion, Dr Rajesh Raju MD, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases and SMO District Civil Hospital, Panchkula spoke about importance of symptoms evaluation, rest response, observe and assess, proceed (STOP) to adjust treatment.
