Says — “I Have Not Come to Seek Votes, But to Stand Among You as Your Son and Brother”

Amritsar: Young BJP leader from Amritsar North Assembly constituency Akshay Sharma addressed local residents and youth, saying that common people have always been used the most in the politics of the country and the state, yet their lives continue to remain full of struggles. He said that for years people have elected leaders to power through their votes, but when the public needs them, those very leaders often distance themselves from the people. Akshay Sharma was addressing a meeting organized in Ward No. 10 of the North constituency.
Akshay Sharma said that even today a shopkeeper lives under the stress of rising electricity bills, labourers are worried about ration for their families and the future of their children, while elderly people remain burdened by debt and inflation despite years of hard work. He said that if governments fail to eliminate poverty, unemployment, drug abuse, and basic civic issues, then the public will have to think seriously about change.
He further stated that he had not come among the people for electoral gains or to seek votes, but to assure them that he would always stand with them like a member of the family. He said whether it is the issue of street lights in the area, children’s education, helping labourers, or supporting poor families, he would continue to stand with every section of society.
Addressing the youth, Akshay Sharma appealed to them to stay away from drugs. He said that drugs destroy every society and generation, and Punjab’s youth must move towards education and employment. He added that quality education for children is the real strength of every family and society.
He said that Bharatiya Janata Party has always worked in the interest of the poor, labourers, and common citizens. Referring to development in states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, he said Punjab also needs change, and such change is only possible with public support.
On this occasion, Kasturi Lal, Pappu Kumar, Bhupendra Kumar, Shammi, Rajesh Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Rajinder Kumar Raju, Arjun, Parveen Kumar, and Manohar Kumar were also present.
