Chandigarh A took first-innings honours in a hard-fought drawn contest against Himachal Pradesh in the fifth Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial U-16 Multi-Day Cricket Tournament being played at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.
After electing to field first, Himachal Pradesh bowlers restricted the hosts to 199 in their first innings despite a half-century from Ishant Rawat (55) and a solid 40-run contribution from Gursharan Singh.
In reply, HP faltered against the trio of Alif (4/40), Shubham Dhiman (3/26) and Ruhaan Sharma (3/14) to dismiss the visitors for 109 and gained a crucial 90-run first-innings lead.
Batting again, Chandigarh A declared their second innings at 154/7 in 47.3 overs, with unbeaten Gursharan Singh (40). Ishant Rawat (32). For Himachal, Aadish Minhas (4/20) took four wickets.
Chasing a target in the final session on day two, Himachal Pradesh reached 57/2 in 15 overs before stumps were drawn. Alif was declared man of the match.
