Chandigarh, UT girls delivered a disciplined all-round performance to register a comprehensive 46-run win over Pondicherry in the Women Under-15 One Day Trophy match held at Indore on Friday.
After winning the toss, Chandigarh opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 165 for 9 in the allotted 35 overs. Riya Kumari (30 off 51 balls) and Kiratjot Kaur (32 off 44 balls) played the crucial role in the total . Riya Yadav added 25 runs.
For Pondicherry, Hansika (3/24) took the maximum share of wickets while Shashini (2/21) skipper Anjum (2/24) chipped in with two wickets each.
In reply, Pondicherry were unable to build sustained partnerships and were bowled out for 119 in 30.1 overs. Diksha Phalswal (4/27) was the pick of the bowlers while Skippwr Hitnashi and Siya clinched two wickets each.
Deepasri (19) was the top scorer for the batting side.
