Mhari Sadak App Transforming Haryana’s Road Infrastructure through Public Participation

Citizen feedback-based digital platform enhancing transparency and accountability

Target set for construction and repair of 63,170 km of roads; pace of work being accelerated

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini personally monitoring complaints on the app

The “Mhari Sadak App,” launched by the Haryana Government to modernize, streamline, and ensure transparency and accountability in road maintenance and repair systems, is emerging as an effective digital initiative. By directly connecting citizens with the governance system, the app is empowering public participation in improving road conditions across the state.

Developed by the state government, the app is based on citizen feedback. Through this platform, complaints related to roads are not only being promptly acknowledged but accountability of the concerned departments is also being clearly established. Complaints received on the app are being resolved on a priority basis, leading to continuous improvement in the quality of roads.

A key feature of the app is the integration of geo-location-based data of roads under all concerned departments, including the Public Works Department, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Zila Parishads, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urban Local Bodies, and the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation. Citizens can upload information regarding any road through photos or videos directly on the app. Once a complaint is registered, its location is automatically forwarded to the concerned department, and the complainant receives updates via SMS.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is personally monitoring complaints received on the Mhari Sadak App on a regular basis. He has issued clear directions to officials to ensure there is no negligence in road maintenance and repair works and that all complaints are resolved within a stipulated timeframe. This direct oversight by the Chief Minister has significantly enhanced both administrative responsiveness and accountability.

The app has created a strong communication channel between the government and citizens, not only expediting grievance redressal but also ensuring transparency in functioning. This initiative is a significant step towards realizing the vision of a “Digital Haryana.”

Notably, the state government has set an ambitious target for the construction and repair of 63,170 kilometers of roads in the current financial year. To achieve this target in a timely and quality-driven manner, extensive use of digital technologies is being made. The Mhari Sadak App is serving as a powerful tool in this direction, strengthening both monitoring and execution of works.

Citizens are encouraged to use the app extensively and report road-related issues in their areas, so that through collective efforts, Haryana’s roads can be made safer, smoother, and world-class. The Mhari Sadak App can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store and used by any citizen.

Haryana Intensifies HPV Vaccination Drive to Curb Cervical Cancer

Over 13,500 adolescent girls immunized

Haryana is intensifying its campaign against cervical cancer. Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi chaired a State Steering Committee review to accelerate the rollout of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine across the state.

As of April 22, more than 13,500 girls have received the vaccine, including 561 on the opening day of the drive. The state has secured 2.28 lakh doses to cover an estimated 2.26 lakh girls aged 14–15 years, according to Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra.

Chief Secretary Sh. Rastogi underscored that cervical cancer remains one of the leading cancers among Indian women, with HPV infection responsible for the vast majority of cases. He noted that Haryana’s single-dose vaccination strategy is expected to significantly reduce the future disease burden. He also called for sustained awareness campaigns across social media, radio, print, and community platforms to counter misinformation and strengthen public confidence in the programme.

Outreach and Community Engagement

Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, emphasised the importance of consistent communication, particularly in rural and underserved areas. She directed Deputy Commissioners to actively involve senior doctors, community leaders, and educators in spreading awareness. District authorities have been directed to coordinate with school principals to motivate parents and ensure that eligible students can readily access nearby health facilities for HPV vaccination.

Technology-Enabled Monitoring

The vaccination drive is being implemented through a structured, digitally enabled system. Beneficiaries are registered on the U-WIN platform, which also issues vaccination certificates automatically. Training programmes for medical officers, vaccinators, and frontline health workers have been completed at district and block levels.

To ensure safety, the State Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) Committee has been activated to monitor and respond promptly to any post-vaccination events.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a common infection of the reproductive tract and is responsible for around 99.7 percent of cervical cancer (cancer of the lower part of the uterus) in women.

The HPV vaccine prevents HPV infection, thereby significantly reducing the risk of developing cervical cancer later in life.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in India, and vaccination is an effective preventive measure.

The HPV vaccine is safe, effective, and approved by the Government of India after due scientific evaluation.160 countries worldwide are successfully administering the HPV vaccine to adolescent girls as part of their national immunization programmes.

The vaccine has minimal and mild side effects, such as pain at the injection site, mild fever, or body ache, which can be easily managed with Paracetamol as advised by a doctor.Vaccineis administered by trained health personnel under medical supervision.

*Statewide outreach, early disease detection and expansion to 70+ citizens mark major push in preventive healthcare: Dr. Sumita Misra*

Haryana’s flagship preventive healthcare programme NIROGI Haryana has achieved a major milestone by screening over one crore people and conducting more than 5.86 crore laboratory investigations free of cost, significantly strengthening early disease detection and public health delivery across the State.

Disclosing this after a high-level review meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education & Research, Dr. Sumita Misra, said that as of April 21, 2026, a total of 1,00,07, 430 beneficiaries from Antyodaya families have been screened under the programme. The initiative, aimed at economically weaker sections, has ensured 5,86,60,875 laboratory tests free of cost, reducing out-of-pocket expenditure for thousands of families.

Originally designed for families with annual income up to Rs. 1.8 lakh, the scheme is scheduled to be expanded to cover households earning up to Rs. 3 lakh annually. This revision has increased the target beneficiary base from 1.59 crore to approximately 2.30 crore people, substantially widening the reach of preventive healthcare services.  In the third phase, Hon’ble CM has directed to include all citizens above 70 years, regardless of income.

The programme has moved beyond hospitals to reach people at their doorstep. As many as 1,11,116 outreach camps have been organised, screening over 38.63 lakh beneficiaries, while Mobile Medical Units have conducted 12,579 camps, covering nearly 2.8 lakh people. In addition, screening has been carried out in 25,907 Anganwadis, 14,316 schools, and 13,034 industrial and high-risk areas, ensuring inclusive coverage across age groups and regions.

NIROGI Haryana provides structured and age-specific health check-ups, including physical examination, vital monitoring, laboratory investigations, diagnosis, treatment, and referral services. The programme covers a wide range of conditions, including anaemia, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, and congenital disorders, ensuring early detection and timely intervention.

Highlighting the impact, Dr. Misra shared that several serious conditions have been detected at an early stage through the programme. Patients diagnosed with cancers, heart defects, rare neurological disorders, and severe anaemia have received timely treatment through referrals to higher medical institutions, demonstrating the programme’s transformative role in saving lives.

In line with the 2026–27 Budget announcement by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the programme will now cover all citizens above 70 years of age, irrespective of income. This step is expected to provide a major safety net for elderly citizens, further strengthening inclusive healthcare. The programme has detected a total of 8,69,966 disease conditions, including 2,99,090 cases of anaemia, 1,33,528 of hypertension, 1,05,238 of diabetes, 6,410 of cardiac disease, 1,257 cancer cases, and 3,518 TB cases.
