
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the Haryana Pavilion at the World Expo–2025 being held in Osaka, Japan, said Haryana has a vital role in India’s overall development. He stated that at a time when India is emerging as a major global economic power and Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has set the goal of achieving a $5-trillion economy, Haryana is contributing maximum towards realising this vision.
Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana constitutes only 1.34 percent of India’s total geographical area and 2.09 percent of its population. Despite this, the small state has proven to be a major engine of India’s economic growth. Haryana ranks second in the country and first in North India in providing logistics facilities to industries. Offices of 400 Fortune companies are located in Gurugram, Haryana.
He said that every second car running on India’s roads is manufactured in Haryana. The state also produces 52 percent of the country’s tractors. Haryana ranks second in contributing to the Central Foodgrain Pool. In the Olympics and other international sports competitions, Haryana remains the state that has won the maximum number of medals.
He stated that Haryana is a land of hope and opportunity and is counted among the most prosperous states in the country. It is a major hub for automobile, IT, and other industries. The state is well connected with advanced communication facilities, developed industrial estates, wide highways, expressways, rail networks, and metro rail systems. Every district in the state is connected to a national highway. Every village in the state is illuminated with electricity. Adequate canals and other means are available for drinking water and irrigation. In the field of education, Haryana has established numerous world-class institutions that offer modern education across various disciplines and subjects.
Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana Government has developed an ecosystem of Ease of Doing Business to accelerate industrial growth. This has strengthened entrepreneurs’ trust in the government. The government is actively promoting startups and MSMEs.
He said that as a result of various incentive schemes being implemented by the government, Haryana has today become the first choice of both domestic and international investors. In the past 11 years, 7.66 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprises have been established in the state, providing employment to 39 lakh people.
He said today, Haryana has emerged as the 7th largest state in India in terms of the number of startups. Currently, Haryana has 9,500 recognized startups. The state has resolved to become India’s number one startup hub. Gurugram has now become a major global centre for IT services and startups. The government has set a target to triple the number of startups in the state. Recently, financial assistance of Rs 1.14 crore has been provided to 22 startups.
The Chief Minister said that a “Fund of Funds” amounting to Rs 2,000 crore is also being established to provide financial support to startups. This initiative will enable the youth to work on their ideas without financial worries.
Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the Haryana delegation on the Japan visit also toured the Haryana Pavilion. The delegation included Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce Sh. A wonderful blend of Haryana’s rich culture, tradition, and technological advancement is currently on display at the World Expo–2025 being held in Osaka, Japan. The Haryana Pavilion, set up within the Bharat Mandapam, has become not only a symbol of pride for the Indian diaspora but also a major attraction for visitors from Japan and other countries around the world.
A high-level delegation, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is on an official visit to Japan with the objective of promoting global industrial activities in Haryana, visited the Haryana Pavilion at the World Expo–2025 on Tuesday.
At the outset, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion. Upon arrival at the pavilion, artists dressed in traditional Haryanvi attire and playing folk instruments welcomed and greeted the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

The pavilion showcases Haryana’s rural culture, historical heritage, industrial progress, and modern developmental journey through VR (Virtual Reality) technology. With the help of this technology, Japanese visitors are virtually experiencing Haryana’s historical and archaeological sites, gaining an immersive glimpse into the grandeur and diversity of the state’s rich land.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini wrote in the visitor’s book that he felt proud to see India’s progress and potential being presented so beautifully at Bharat Mandapam. He remarked that this exhibition truly reflects the spirit of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and our journey toward a sustainable and innovative future. Haryana is fully committed to contributing to this national vision, he said.

The display of Haryana’s traditional costumes, handicrafts, folk dances, clay artworks, and traditional music at the pavilion has left a deep impression on Japanese audiences. Local visitors wore traditional Haryanvi outfits for photo sessions and danced joyfully to folk performances like Ghoomar and Phag, immersing themselves in the vibrant spirit of Haryanvi culture.
Visitors to the Haryana Pavilion are also experiencing the state’s ethos of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (Guests are like God). Japanese visitors remarked that the warmth and affection reflected in Haryana’s culture represent the true soul of India.
At the World Expo–2025, the Haryana Pavilion has emerged as a powerful symbol of Indian culture, technological progress, and the message of self-reliance. It beautifully embodies Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The World is One Family) and Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini’s vision of a ‘Viksit Haryana’.

A high-level delegation, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is on an official visit to Japan with the objective of attracting foreign investment and promoting global industrial activities in Haryana. On the second day of the visit today, the Chief Minister and the delegation travelled from Tokyo to Osaka on board the renowned Shinkansen – Osaka Bullet Train. This train is known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure, safety standards, and operational excellence and is considered an outstanding example of a modern transportation system.
The delegation includes Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Foreign Cooperation Smt. Amneet P. During the journey, the Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, India is also moving forward toward a rapid transportation revolution. He informed that under the Central Government’s “Viksit Bharat” initiative, a high-speed train corridor is being developed between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, which will be India’s first bullet train project.
The Chief Minister said travelling today on Japan’s Shinkansen Bullet Train was an inspiring experience. He added that soon, citizens in India will also enjoy such fast, safe, and comfortable travel. This, he said, is a major step toward realising the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
During this journey, the delegation also studied Japan’s railway system operations, maintenance, passenger safety and technological innovations. The Chief Minister said that Haryana, along with the rest of India, will draw inspiration from Japan’s experience and technical expertise to improve its transportation systems.
