Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on the path to becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy., the country is witnessing record GST collections every month, symbolizing its growing economic strength. Chartered Accountants (CAs) have made a significant contribution to strengthening this tax system. The Chief Minister assured all possible government assistance regarding the request for five acres of land to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Panchkula.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was addressing the national conference for CA students, ‘Pragyaan 2026’, as the chief guest at the Indradhanush Auditorium. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the conference by lighting the traditional lamp.
Addressing the CA students, the Chief Minister said that their contribution is vital to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat. He emphasized that the blueprint and foundation of a developed India’s economic structure will be shaped by young professionals like them.
Referring to an inspiring statement made by the Prime Minister at an ICAI programme, Nayab Singh Saini said that Narendra Modi had once remarked that a Chartered Accountant’s signature is even more powerful than that of the Prime Minister. He described this as the nation’s highest recognition of the integrity, honesty, and responsibility associated with the profession. The Chief Minister said that while governments formulate policies, schemes, and programmes, it is the signature of a Chartered Accountant that often influences the direction and health of the economy.
He said that the theme of the conference, ‘Pragyaan Yash Ka Path’ conveys the message that success is not attained through talent alone but through hard work, integrity, discipline, and a commitment to lifelong learning. He added that the conference would provide participants with valuable opportunities through inspiring addresses by eminent speakers, student presentations, insightful discussions, networking sessions, and cultural programmes. The Chief Minister further observed that while the term “CA” may appear to be just two letters to many, the pursuit of Chartered Accountancy is far from ordinary. He described it as a rigorous academic and professional journey that demands dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment.
Interacting with CA students, the Chief Minister stated that the responsibility of upholding professional ethics is far greater than the challenges they currently face. Upon graduating, they will hold the key to the nation’s trust in their hands. A single piece of sound advice or an honest report from them can replenish the national exchequer, thereby facilitating the procurement of superior equipment for soldiers guarding our borders and ensuring food supplies reach the plates of the poor. Welcoming students from across the country to Haryana, he highlighted the state’s significant contribution to national development. Haryana is rapidly emerging as a major hub for new businesses and startups. Every possible measure is being taken here to ease the process of doing business, opening up a vast horizon of opportunities for young people like them, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the world of technology is evolving rapidly, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerging as a major topic of discussion across sectors. He noted that while some people fear that AI may pose a threat to the jobs of Chartered Accountants, he firmly believes that no AI system or computer software can ever replace human judgment, experience, and decision-making ability. Technology, he said, can make tasks easier and process data more efficiently, but it cannot replicate a professional’s ethics, integrity, or human perspective.
Speaking on the occasion, CA Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, Board of Studies, said that Chartered Accountants play a vital role in strengthening the nation’s economy. Highlighting the stature of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), he informed that the Institute has 185 branches across India, 154 overseas chapters, and 31 representative offices worldwide.
