CM Nayab Singh Saini flags off Sonipat Half Marathon

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday flagged off the Sonipat Half Marathon organized at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Sonipat. The Chief Minister, while addressing the crowd gathered at the half marathon, said the main goal of such events is to make the state aware against drugs so that Haryana can be made drug-free. He called upon the entire society to unite against drugs. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also wished people on Navratri.

The Chief Minister said this race is an inspiration to walk together, to create awareness towards sports and to mobilize the entire society against drugs. Such events not only bring social awareness but also instill enthusiasm and excitement in all of us. He said only healthy people build a healthy society and a healthy society is the first step towards the development and upliftment of the country. It is important for a healthy society that it should be free from evils like drug addiction. For this, we have expanded sports facilities in the state. A campaign has also been launched to keep the youth and all citizens away from the evil of drug addiction. The marathon is a part of this campaign.

Promoting fitness by organizing marathons

The Chief Minister said marathons and raahgiri events are being organized across the state. Through these events, the public is constantly being made aware of maintaining fitness. Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi started the Fit India programme on August 29, 2019 so that the general public can take care of their health. The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister and said by starting the Fit India programme, the Prime Minister has made fitness an integral part of the lifestyle of the common man. Along with this, India has also given the basic mantra of yoga to the whole world. He said seeing the crowd gathered in today’s marathon, it is evident that people have become committed to fitness.

Haryana Government is continuously tackling drug addiction

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Haryana Government is continuously tackling drug addiction. With the support of saints, voluntary organizations and civil organizations, it is working against drug addiction. Sports are being promoted to keep the youth away from drugs. Mission teams have been formed from village and ward level to state level for de-addiction and rehabilitation. Dhaakad programme has been started at the level of colleges, universities and educational institutions.

Programmes being organized under ‘Haryana Uday’

The Chief Minister said this marathon is being organized under the Haryana Uday programme of the state government. So far, 2,482 programmes have been organized under the Haryana Uday Abhiyan, in which 16.50 lakh people have participated. This has proved to be the biggest outreach programme of Haryana till date. It includes raahgiri, cyclothon and sports competitions in areas affected by crime and drug addiction, de-addiction campaign, adoption of senior citizens, police school etc.

From children to elderly, everyone took part in marathon

The Chief Minister said it is a matter of happiness that thousands of people from all over the city have participated in the marathon. From children to the elderly, everyone participated in the marathon. Senior citizens aged 60 to 80 also ran and their enthusiasm inspires others. He congratulated the winning runners and all the citizens who participated in the 21 km, 10 km and 5 km marathons. He also congratulated the Sonipat district administration on the successful organization of this marathon.

Students gave different cultural presentations during the half marathon. Singer MD presented songs against drug addiction. Students of Rai Sports School also presented gymnastics.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma listens to Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat programme in Gohana

Haryana Cooperatives, Prisons, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma reached booth number 136 in Juan village of Gohana Assembly and listened to the 120th edition of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme with villagers. The Cabinet Minister, while wishing the villagers a Happy Indian New Year, said every Mann Ki Baat programme of the Prime Minister brings new thinking and his words are heart touching. The youth and countrymen get to learn something new from the programme which proves to be inspirational in moving forward in life.

Dr Arvind Sharma said during the Mann Ki Baat programme, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the industrialists of Panipat for making good use of the waste cloth coming out of the textile industry, which is a matter of pride for the state. He said every section of our state is so hardworking that the Prime Minister often mentions Haryana in his Mann Ki Baat programmes.

Addressing the villagers present there, he said all the children should make good use of their summer holidays with the suggestions of the Prime Minister and get a unique experience in the border villages by joining the Vibrant Village Programme as told by the Prime Minister, as well as spread awareness about the values of the Constitution by participating in the Padyatra on Ambedkar Jayanti. He said the suggestion given by Prime Minister to the women of Telangana to make cooking items from flowers should be adopted by our women too and they should also prepare cooking products from it. He said the Prime Minister shares such suggestions so that countrymen can also contribute to the development of the country by doing something new.

Dr Arvind Sharma said every citizen of our country is working hard to fulfill the resolution taken by the Prime Minister to make the country a developed nation by the year 2047 and he is confident that all of us together will definitely fulfill this resolution. He also appealed to the people to make good use of water.

Chandigarh, March 30- Haryana Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya attended the 25th Foundation Day celebrations of Varishth Upadhyay Manohar Muni (VUMM) Jain Public School, Karnal as the chief guest. During this, he said education is not just a means to get a job but it is a path to change life. Education makes us cultured. He congratulated all the students and school management on the 25th Foundation Day of VUMM Jain Public School. On this occasion, he wished a Happy Hindu New Year and Chaitra Navratri to all.

The Governor said in today’s programme, the students have given excellent cultural presentations on women empowerment, which is inspirational for all of us. Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi started Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan. Along with this, schemes like Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi have been started in the direction of women empowerment.

He said India is rapidly moving forward on the path of progress. India is counted among the big powers of the world. Our youth power has an important contribution in taking the country forward. We should work on skills along with education. Today, the importance of technology has increased in the field of education. In such a situation, by learning new skills, we can not only earn jobs but also set up new start-ups.

The Governor said VUMM Jain Public School is providing quality education. Along with education, the institution is also working for animals and birds. Brilliant students are given fee concessions. He appealed to people to keep drinking water in a vessel on the roof of their houses in this summer season so that birds can drink water in the summer.
