Electoral Literacy Club of GGDSD College celebrated National Voters Day

The Electoral Literacy Club of GGDSD College, Chandigarh celebrated National Voters Day . Slogan Writing and Cartoon Making Competitions were held to aware students about the importance of Voting in a democratic country. Around 40 students participated in the event.

The Nodal  officer  of the club and the Head, Political Science Department , Mrs. Seema Kumari, encouraged the students to understand their right to vote more as a duty than as a right. Dr. Virender Kumar  Head , Department of Bio-informatics College gave away the prizes to the winners.

A talk was held  on Personality Development at SD College  . The guest speaker Mrs. Ritu Singal, MD Raglan Group and life skills coach talked about the importance of gaining appropriate life skills and need for achievement. She advised the students not to have a materialistic approach but instead be of service to the society and mankind.

The speaker also emphasized on the need for good company, reading good books and having a good mentorship in life. She stressed that failures should always be taken as stepping stones to success. It is always important to be cheerful and optimistic in one’s thoughts and spirit and not be dejected even after being defeated repeatedly.

 Lastly, she suggested the students to optimally use their skills and the technology at hand in order to change themselves for the better.
