Administrative officials and lawyers outplay UTCA and Judges in Gully Cricket Tournament

Chandigarh, Chief Secretary, UT Administration XI beat UT Cricket Association XI by 28 runs at an exhibition match played under the aegis of Gully Cricket Tournament being organised by UTCA and Chandigarh Police at PCA Stadium, Mohali on Saturday. Batting first, the UT Administration XI put up a total of 82/2 in the allotted overs, with Ajay Ahlawat top-scoring with 17 runs, while Hari Kalikat contributed 11. In response, UTCA XI faced early setbacks, crumbling to 36/7. Despite a brief resistance led by Sanjay Tandon, who scored 11 runs, the team was ultimately restricted to 54/8, falling short of the target.

In the second match, Advocates XI defeated Justice XI by 6 wickets. Batting first, Justice XI scored 70/2 with the help of Vinit (16) and Nikhil Vashisht (22). In reply, Advocates achieved the target in 10th  overs at the  loss of four wickets wherein Rajat More added 20 runs..

Meanwhile, the regular fixtures of the Gully Cricket Tournament continued with high energy and competitive spirit across various venues. In notable results, Team No. 80 defeated Team No. 74 by 51 runs, while Team No. 382 outclassed Team No. 379 with a dominant 70-run victory. A closely contested match saw Team No. 494 edge past Team No. 492 by two wickets. Another nail-biter featured Team No. 181 narrowly beating Team No. 177 by just two runs. Team No. 84 recorded a 25-run win over Team No. 87, and Team No. 401 emerged victorious against Team No. 406 by 33 runs. Earlier in the morning, the players also participated in the Walk for Drug Free Chandigarh organised by UT Administration. .
