
In the semi-final matches of the Tricity Women’s Cricket Tournament, Future Star Women’s Cricket Academy (Pundri) and Cricket Academy of Narwal ‘A’ secured impressive victories to advance to the final. The two teams will face off for the title on Sunday.
In the first semi-final, played at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Future Star Women’s Cricket Academy (Pundri) defeated the ‘Cricket with Nagesh’ Academy by 5 wickets. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the ‘Cricket with Nagesh’ Academy posted a total of 146/6 in 20 overs. Captain Aradhana Bisht played a magnificent innings of 83 runs for the team, while Jasmeet Kaur added 21 runs and Eknoor Kaur Multani contributed 22 runs.
Chasing the target, Future Star Academy claimed the match by scoring 147/5 in 19.3 overs. Captain Ritika Sharma played an excellent innings of 65 runs off 45 balls, while Tina contributed 30 runs. In the bowling department, Kumari Shibi took 2 wickets, but she was unable to steer her team to victory.
In the second semi-final, the Cricket Academy of Narwal ‘A’ defeated the WCC Titans by 8 wickets. Batting first, the WCC Titans could only manage to score 116/9 in 20 overs. Captain Gulnaz Grewal scored 38 runs, and Suman Rajput scored 27 runs. For Narwal ‘A’, Suman Sandhu delivered a brilliant bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs. Diya and Niya Rana claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing a target of 117 runs, the Cricket Academy of Narwal ‘A’ won the contest by scoring 117/2 in just 15.4 overs. Palak Rana remained unbeaten on 47 runs, while N. Singh played a brisk innings of 33 runs off 19 balls. Captain Suman Sandhu remained unbeaten on 23 runs.
Now, Future Star Women Cricket Academy Pundri and Cricket Academy of Narwal ‘A’ will face each other in the tournament final.
