He said that 34 railway stations across Haryana are being upgraded with modern passenger amenities and infrastructure under the scheme at a total cost of Rs 1,149 cr. He further said that the redevelopment of Mandi Dabwali, Hodal, and Jind railway stations has already been completed, and these stations have been transformed into ‘Amrit Railway Stations’.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering as the chief guest at a function organized at Kalka Railway Station today.
On this occasion, a live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme from Jalandhar, Punjab, was screened at the venue. During the event, the Prime Minister dedicated 75 redeveloped ‘Amrit Railway Stations’ across the country to the nation through video conferencing, including the redeveloped Kalka and Narwana railway stations in Haryana.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that it is a matter of immense pride and joy for the people of Haryana that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated two redeveloped railway stations in the state under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He said these stations will not only enhance passenger convenience but also serve as gateways to Haryana’s culture, tourism, and local economy.
The Chief Minister described today as a historic day for the state saying that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has gifted Haryana nine major development projects worth nearly Rs 15,000 crore, including the country’s first hydrogen-powered train. He said that there was a time when railway projects remained pending in files for years and railway stations were viewed merely as transit points. Today, however, railway stations are being transformed into centres of the nation’s evolving identity, cultural heritage, and economic growth, with Haryana emerging as a shining example of this transformation. Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the railway budget for Haryana has increased from Rs 315 crore in 2014 to Rs 3,566 crore in 2026–27, reflecting the Prime Minister’s strong commitment to the state’s development.
The Chief Minister said that railway projects worth around Rs 12,000 crore are currently being implemented in Haryana. These projects are creating new opportunities in industry, trade, tourism, employment, and overall economic development. He added that Haryana has achieved 100 per cent electrification of its entire 1,574-km railway network, providing a strong foundation for faster, safer, and more modern rail transportation while also contributing to environmental sustainability.
Nayab Singh Saini said that India is not only expanding its railway network but is also building the railways of the future. At present, eight Vande Bharat Express trains and two Amrit Bharat Express trains are serving Haryana. He said that while the Vande Bharat Express reflects the speed and progress of New India, the Amrit Bharat Express is dedicated to providing affordable and comfortable travel to the common man.
Highlighting major railway infrastructure developments, he said that the Rohtak–Meham–Hansi and Sonipat–Jind railway lines have been constructed at costs of Rs 844 crore and Rs 713 crore, respectively. He also referred to the country’s first elevated railway line in Rohtak and the modern elevated railway track in Kurukshetra. These projects, he said, reflect a forward-looking vision of development that reduces travel time, eases traffic congestion, and gives fresh momentum to urban growth.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned the railways not only as a means of passenger transport but also as a key driver of the nation’s economic growth. He stated that the operationalization of the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal and the Patli–Manesar freight section, the establishment of a rail coach repair factory at Barhi in Sonipat, and the expansion of modern freight transport infrastructure are significant steps towards developing Haryana as a major logistics hub. He said these initiatives will help reduce transportation costs for industries, promote exports, and generate new employment opportunities for the youth, thereby contributing to the state’s economic progress.
Nayab Singh Saini said that a safe and efficient railway network is a hallmark of a developed nation. He stated that over the past 12 years, 33 railway overbridges and 139 railways under bridges have been constructed in Haryana, while 123 unmanned railway crossings have been eliminated. These measures have enhanced public safety, reduced travel time, and reflect the commitment of the government towards modern and responsive governance.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana’s rail network is expanding at a rapid pace. He highlighted the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor as a transformative project that will reshape the state’s industrial and economic landscape. Connecting Palwal, Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkhoda, the corridor is expected to emerge as a major hub for industry, investment, and employment in the coming years.
He further said that projects such as the Karnal–Yamunanagar and Jind–Hansi railway lines are also being developed with future requirements in mind. The double-engine government, he added, is creating world-class infrastructure not only for the present generation but also for the generations to come.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working with full commitment to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ through the ‘Haryana Vision Document 2047’. He said the government’s objective is not limited to developing roads and railways, but to build a Haryana where farmers are prosperous, youth are self-reliant, industries are globally competitive, women are safe and empowered, and every citizen has equal opportunities for growth and development.
Appealing to the public, Nayab Singh Saini said that railway stations are not merely government assets but a shared heritage of all citizens. He urged people to contribute towards maintaining their cleanliness, security, and dignity. He said that a nation reaches new heights only when citizens and the government work together in partnership.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the redeveloped Kalka railway station and reviewed the passenger amenities and other facilities available at the station.

Target to recover 56 crore rupees in pending electricity-theft penalties from consumers within 45 days
45-day special campaign launched against power theft: DGP Navdeep Singh Virk
Special campaign begins across all 22 districts under the leadership of DGP Navdeep Singh Virk
Taking serious note of the outstanding penalty amount pending against electricity consumers in Haryana, Director General of Police, Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, Navdeep Singh Virk, has directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to conduct a thorough scrutiny of police station records and case diaries and immediately prepare a list of all electricity theft cases where penalties of one lakh rupees or more remain unpaid.
The DGP has instructed all SHOs to personally monitor the recovery process and initiate immediate action to realise the pending penalties. He has also ordered the launch of a 45-day special campaign aimed at recovering the 56 crore rupees in outstanding penalty revenue pending across the state.
He further directed that a weekly progress report, along with details of the penalty amount recovered, must be submitted every Monday to the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Enforcement Headquarters, Shakti Bhawan.
The Haryana State Enforcement Bureau operates round the clock through its 22 police stations across the state. Its core responsibilities include curbing electricity theft, preventing water theft, checking illegal mining, controlling the sale of illicit liquor, and monitoring the development of unauthorised colonies.
The Bureau maintains that electricity theft is a social offence. Since electricity generation depends primarily on natural resources such as water and coal, power theft amounts to the misuse of finite natural resources. Controlling electricity theft, therefore, is not only a law enforcement priority but also part of the Bureau’s broader social responsibility.
At a time of growing concerns over climate change, preventing power theft and promoting energy conservation are essential to protecting the environment. In line with this objective, the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau regularly conducts public awareness campaigns under the guidance of DGP Navdeep Singh Virk to encourage responsible energy use and strengthen public participation in preventing electricity theft.

Jind’s ghee and ghevar may not have changed over the years, but Jind’s spirit has changed. Today, Jind is emerging as a picture of the BJP-NDA’s good governance model: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while appreciating the working style of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana’s double-engine government is working on the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government is doing excellent work for the youth, farmers, and women of the state. The path shown by the Haryana Government of providing jobs without ‘kharchi-parchi’ was not easy, but the BJP government has made it possible. Haryana is now moving rapidly on the path of development. Agriculture and industry are the two pillars that are strengthening Haryana.
The Prime Minister was addressing a massive public rally organised in Jind on Friday after flagging off the country’s first hydrogen train from Jind. Governor of Haryana Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Haryana Vidhan Sabha deputy speaker Dr. Krishan Middha, were present on the occasion.
Speaking in Haryanvi, Narendra Modi said that he was overwhelmed with happiness upon coming to Jind. “This is no ordinary land. This is a land of history, valour, faith and pride. The name and blessings of Shakti Peeth Mata Jayantiya always remain with this city. The affection and love shown by the people here will never be forgotten. The milk, curd and ghee of the Murrah buffalo, Jind’s desi boora and its ghevar are memories that are inseparably associated with Jind,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that Jind’s ghee and ghevar may not have changed over the years, but Jind’s spirit has changed. Today, Jind is emerging as a picture of the BJP-NDA’s good governance model. Over the past few years, the entire Haryana has embarked on a new track of development. Today’s programme is infusing new energy into the mission of the BJP’s double-engine government.
He said that Jind and Haryana’s name had been etched in the pages of history today. The country has received its first hydrogen train from Jind. Even today, we read and hear that India’s first train ran between Bombay and Thane. Similarly, whenever hydrogen trains are mentioned in the future, the names of Jind, Sonipat and Haryana will also be remembered.
He said that Haryana had also received other projects worth more than Rs 14,000 crore. These include projects related to railways, highways and heritage, while two new medical colleges have also been dedicated to the service of Haryana. This will open new avenues for the youth to become doctors and other medical professionals. Besides this, Prime Minister handed over the keys to 5 beneficiaries of PMAY (Rural).
The Prime Minister praised the people of Jind and Haryana and said that the seriousness with which people had embraced the Swachhata Se Swagat initiative was heartening. The cleanliness campaign had been widely discussed on social media over the past week. He urged everyone to resolve that cleanliness should become their nature and part of their values, and that they should continue to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives.
The Prime Minister said that the railways of the 19th century were identified with steam engines. The railways of the 20th century were powered by diesel and electricity, while the railway of the 21st century is powered by hydrogen. Today, Indian Railways has taken a major step in this 21st-century technology. The hydrogen train has commenced operations between Jind and Sonipat. At present, the journey covers 90 kilometres, but there is immense potential for expansion in the future.
Hydrogen trains have emerged globally only recently, around seven to eight years ago. At present, only three or four countries in the world have the capability to operate hydrogen trains. Even in countries where such trains are currently operational, the technology is still at a very early stage. However, the hydrogen train operating between Jind and Sonipat is the world’s most powerful hydrogen train. With a capacity of 3,200 horsepower, India’s hydrogen train is not only the most powerful but also the longest hydrogen train in the world. By operating a 10-coach hydrogen train right from the outset, India has made its mark on the global stage.
India’s hydrogen train is not only emission-free but is also a highly successful example of Make in India. The train has been designed by Indian engineers and manufactured by an Indian company. This hydrogen train is completely different from other trains. He said that more infrastructure related to hydrogen trains would be developed in the region in the coming times and new factories would be established to meet the requirements of the hydrogen train network. The train is certain to create numerous new employment opportunities for the youth of Haryana.
The Prime Minister said that the major changes witnessed in Indian Railways over the past 12 years had benefited the country. For the past several months, war has been raging across West Asia, including the entire Hormuz region, Iran and the Gulf. The maritime route through which large quantities of petrol, diesel, LPG and fertilisers for farmers reach India from the Hormuz region has been continuously affected by conflict for the last three to four months.
He said that if such a situation had arisen before 2014, the entire railway system of India would have come to a standstill. At that time, a large part of the country had trains that ran solely on diesel. If the supply of diesel had stopped, how would diesel-powered trains have operated? The country would have faced a major crisis. But this is not the situation of 2014; this is the new India under Modi. The Prime Minister said that he thinks ahead and also implements solutions to problems on the ground well in advance.
He said that Jind is now being connected with several highways. The Haryana section of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway was inaugurated today, while the Jind-Gohana National Highway was also dedicated to the nation. Besides, the Ambala-Kala Amb four-lane highway will provide significant convenience to the people of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Jind has now become a district connected with five national highways. Such connectivity will make it easier and cheaper for farmers and livestock owners to transport their produce to major markets. It will give a boost to industries, promote tourism and create a large number of new employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister said that he had recently returned from a visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. During the visit, India entered into several agreements. However, there was one subject that had not received as much attention. This subject is particularly connected with the youth of Haryana. Extensive discussions were held with the governments of Australia and New Zealand on sports. In the coming times, India will work together with both countries on several aspects, including the sports industry and training of athletes. This will greatly benefit the youth of Haryana as well.
He said that sports are being transformed into a major means of fitness and employment in India. The government has also formulated a new National Sports Policy, the Khelo Bharat Policy. From the Khelo India campaign to the TOPS scheme, athletes are receiving unprecedented facilities and financial assistance worth thousands of rupees. Here in Haryana too, the BJP government is providing strong encouragement to sports and athletes.
The Prime Minister said that India will host the Commonwealth Games in 2030. Preparations are being made with full commitment for the Olympic Games to be held in India in 2036. Therefore, every athlete must prepare rigorously and give their best. He assured that the BJP’s double-engine government would provide every facility to athletes. He said that those who wish to witness the 2036 Olympics must focus on children who are currently between five and 12-15 years of age. He further said that the World Police and Fire Games would also be held in Ahmedabad in the coming times. The Prime Minister urged the athletes of Haryana to prepare wholeheartedly for this as well. He expressed confidence that the sons and daughters of Haryana would, as always, make the state proud and fly its flag high.
The Prime Minister said that the welfare of farmers is a priority for the government. The Jind Mandi is one of the largest mandis in Haryana. The farmers of Haryana are benefiting greatly due to the BJP’s double-engine government. Under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, farmers in Haryana have received nearly Rs 8,000 crore. Of this, farmers in Jind have received more than Rs 600 crore.
He said that India is a country of traditions and culture, and this region is a major centre of its rich heritage. This is the land of Jind, which carries the glory of Maharaja Ranjit Singh as well as the faith of the Pandavas. Sacred pilgrimage sites such as Pandu-Pindara and Ramrai continue to be centres of faith for lakhs of devotees. This rich legacy of faith and spirituality is being preserved by today’s India and is also being passed on to the next generation with full respect. With this sentiment, the foundation stone of a Sikh Museum was laid in Kurukshetra today. This new museum of Haryana will take India’s great Guru tradition to future generations.

The public rally in Jind stands as a testimony to the fact that ordinary citizens are also being inspired by these efforts and are moving forward towards adopting an environment-friendly lifestyle. The extensive use of electric vehicles by Haryana during the event conveyed the message that development and environmental protection can go hand in hand, and that public participation plays a crucial role in building a greener future.
