Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Secretary Dr. TVSN Prasad inaugurated the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Conference Hall at the Civil Secretariat, fulfilling a long-standing request from employees. The new facility serves as a tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, with Dr. Prasad emphasizing Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy of equality, governance, and self-reliance.
Honoring Dr. Ambedkar’s Legacy
In his address, Dr. Prasad paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar, stating, “We owe our equality, governance, and self-reliance to Dr. Ambedkar’s vision.” He emphasized the crucial role of civil servants as the “face of the government” and urged them to serve all citizens with dedication.

Dr. Prasad encouraged employees to be guided by the principles of Dr. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting the importance of integrity, service, and commitment.
Festive Greetings and Facility Enhancements
As the festive season approaches, Dr. Prasad extended warm Dhanteras and Diwali greetings to all employees. He also announced the upgrade of the running track for CISF personnel and the establishment of a crèche facility for women in the CISF force, reinforcing a commitment to staff well-being.
Dr. Prasad said that inaugurating the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Conference Hall marks a significant step in improving the workplace environment for Haryana’s Civil Secretariat employees and promoting a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and dedicated public service.
Deputy Commandant of CISF, Mr. Nitin Kumar, expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary for enhancing essential facilities for CISF personnel, including establishing a women’s hostel and mess. He also welcomed the Chief Secretary’s announcement to upgrade the running track and set up a crèche facility for women in the CISF.
Special Secretary, Secretariat Establishment, Mr. Samwartak Singh Khangwal, also thanked the PWD (B&R) department for the timely completion of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hall.
