Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini unveils CPL 2026 Trophy

The fourth edition of Omaxe Chandigarh Premier League (CPL) 2026 got off to a grand start with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiling the tournament trophy at a glittering opening ceremony held at Hyatt Regency on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lauded the organisers for creating a platform that promotes sporting excellence and provides opportunities to young cricketers. Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Gavaskar praised the efforts being made by UTCA. He said leagues such as CPL play a vital role in identifying promising players and providing them with exposure to competitive cricket.

Speaking on the occasion, UTCA Founder President Sanjay Tandon said that the CPL reflects the changing landscape of domestic cricket, where talent meets opportunity. Our endeavour is to create an environment that not only produces better cricketers but also builds confidence, character and a winning mindset among young players.

The evening also featured the introduction of the six participating franchises — defending champions Chandigarh Kings, HIIMS Hawks, Capital Strikers, Tricity Bashers, Rock Garden Warriors, and Royal Titans. The opening match will be played between Chandigarh Kings Vs Tricity Bashers followed by Capital Strikers Vs Rock Garden Warriors at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula on June 8.
