*Scrap Old Diesel and Petrol Vehicles to Help Reduce Pollution*

*Strict Action to Be Taken for Non-Compliance*

The Haryana Government has launched a special initiative to make the National Capital Region (NCR) cleaner, safer and pollution-free.

According to a government spokesperson, it is time for owners of diesel vehicles that are over 10 years old and petrol vehicles that are over 15 years old to get their vehicles scrapped. Older vehicles not only contribute significantly to air pollution but are also more expensive to maintain and may pose safety risks.

The government has appealed to vehicle owners to contribute to a cleaner NCR and a greener future by taking their diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old to the nearest Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) for scrapping and switching to cleaner, newer vehicles.

Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities provide arrangements for the safe and systematic scrapping of old vehicles. This process can help reduce pollution, improve road safety and facilitate the recycling of reusable vehicle materials.

The spokesperson further stated that vehicle owners who fail to get their old vehicles scrapped at RVSF centres at the earliest may face strict legal action in accordance with the applicable rules.

To realise the vision of a cleaner NCR and a greener future, the government has urged citizens to responsibly scrap their old vehicles and actively cooperate with this initiative.
