Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini visited village Sakta Khera in district Sirsa and attended the prayer meeting of Hindi movement activist and former MLA from the Abohar area of united Punjab, late Chaudhary Sahi Ram Bishnoi, and paid his tribute to him.

The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.  He expressed  condolences to the family members of late Chaudhary Sahi Ram Bishnoi and assured them of all possible assistance.

Nayab Singh Saini said that the late Chaudhary Sahi Ram Bishnoi was a great personality who dedicated his entire life to social service, sacrifice, and patriotism. His life was an excellent example of struggle, service, and dedication.

The Chief Minister said that such great leaders continue to inspire society, and his memories will always remain alive among the people.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that a hospital will be named after the late Chaudhary Sahi Ram Bishnoi.

Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh watched the film Nalanda Mahavihara at a special screening organised at Lok Bhavan, here. The First Lady of Haryana, Mitra Ghosh also graced the occasion with her august presence.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh described the film as a sincere and commendable effort to preserve and promote the country’s rich heritage legacy through the powerful medium of cinema. He said that Nalanda was not merely an institution but a global centre of learning that attracted thousands of scholars, monks and seekers of knowledge from across the world, standing as a timeless symbol of India’s intellectual and cultural eminence.

The primary objective of the film is to create awareness among the public and encourage people to reflect upon the enduring values that help build a better, more responsible and harmonious society. He observed that Nalanda Mahavihara effectively blends entertainment with a strong and meaningful social message, making it a film of both cultural significance and contemporary relevance.

The film has been produced by Deepak Diwan and directed by Arvind Gupta.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Keshni Anand Arora, former Chief Secretary, Haryana; Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, Secretary to the Governor; Dheeraj Setia, ADC (P) to the Governor along with the cast and crew of the film.

 This Year’s International Yoga Day Theme: Yoga for Healthy Ageing

Nayab Singh Saini chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for International Yoga Day-2026 and directed officers to ensure that this year’s celebrations are organised across the state on a grand scale with extensive public participation. The theme for this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Cabinet Minister, Ms. Arti Rao also  remained present during the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that the state-level main event will be organised in Panchkula, while special yoga programmes will also be conducted at the district, sub-division and gram panchayat levels to ensure yoga reaches every section of society.

Nayab Singh Saini said that the Government of India has designated “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” as this year’s theme, and accordingly, yoga camps, awareness drives and special outreach programmes will be organised throughout Haryana. He said these initiatives will especially encourage senior citizens to adopt yoga and lead healthier lifestyles.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, yoga has received unprecedented global recognition and respect. Today, countries across the world are embracing India’s ancient tradition and holistic way of life. He said that the Haryana Government is committed to connecting the younger generation with India’s cultural values and traditions while working towards the vision of a Healthy India and a Healthy Haryana.

Directing officers  concerned to ensure that Yoga Day celebrations go beyond mere formalities, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the campaign should be transformed into a mass movement. He directed that schools, colleges, panchayats, social organisations and voluntary groups should actively participate so that maximum people can be connected with yoga.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department,  Dr. Sumita Misra informed that extensive arrangements are being made for the successful organisation of International Yoga Day. She presented a detailed roadmap for the state-wide celebrations.

Chairman, Haryana Yog Aayog, Jaideep Arya, said that active participation from all sections of society is essential for the success of Yoga Day celebrations. He informed that schools, colleges, universities, panchayats, municipalities, municipal councils, and social and religious organisations have been connected with the campaign. Awareness rallies will also be organised across the state.

He further informed that the final rehearsal for Yoga Day will be held on June 19. Yoga Jagran Yatras will be organised from June 8 to June 10, while a Yoga Marathon will be conducted on June 15. From June 16 to June 18, special training camps will be organised to provide yoga protocol training to participants.

Senior administrative officers from various departments and other dignitaries also remained present in the meeting.

Haryana Notifies 45-Day Timeline for Groundwater Borewell Permission

The Haryana Government has brought a service of Haryana Water Resources (Conservation, Regulation and Management) Authority under the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014.

According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the service of granting No Objection Certificate/Permission for making a borewell for abstraction of groundwater by the Haryana Water Resources (Conservation, Regulation and Management) Authority will now be provided within a fixed timeline of 45 days.

As per the notification, the concerned Chief Technical Officer will serve as the Designated Officer for the service. The Chief Hydrologist has been appointed as the First Grievances Redressal Authority, while the Chief Executive Officer will function as the Second Grievances Redressal Authority.
