What is the story of the web series:
Randhir Singh, a respected farmer in a village in Haryana, has two sons – the elder son Rajbir, who is greedy and cunning, and the younger son Sukhbir, who is addicted to alcohol. To improve Sukhbir’s condition, Randhir brings a girl named Basant from a poor household as his daughter-in-law by “paying money”. Basant is a quietly tolerant and simple-natured girl who has to face scorn, taunts and suspicion in her in-laws’ house. While Basant tries to change her husband Sukhbir, the elder son Rajbir and his wife Saroj conspire to maintain their hold on the property and honor of the house. When Randhir talks about giving an equal share to Sukhbir in his will, the entire family turns against him. One night Randhir is mysteriously murdered. The police investigation begins and the needle of suspicion turns on everyone from Basant to Rajbir. Amidst the village panchayat, police, and family conspiracies, each layer is revealed – revealing the deadly truth hidden inside the house. It is a desi thriller based on greed, casteism, misogyny, and the struggle for familial power, where each character has her own truth and lie. This is also the story of a daughter-in-law who was brought in to bring peace to the house, but the same daughter-in-law becomes the only hope of this falling apart family.
