A landmark round table conference was organized at the initiative of Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha in association with Innovation mission Punjab bringing together Punjab’s top startups, industry stalwarts, and government representatives.
Dr. Sahney informed that the conference served as a dynamic platform for over 30 high-growth startups and five leading incubators, to present their business models and explore new avenues for growth and collaboration. Notable startups such as Burgerbae and Nautrik, Bartanwala which have been featured on the prestigious Shark Tank India, were among the participants. Along with these three, Jaggercane, Agri to Power, SAS software, Dr. Bipasha Sharma Healthy Food and co. made a presentation in the conference.
Dr. Sahney advocated for speedy release of GST refund to start ups, giving purchase preference to them in govt tenders, making paddy straw based biofuel compulsory for industry and thermal plants
Dr. Sahney stated that Punjab’s youth have immense entrepreneurial talent, and our mission is to empower them with the necessary ecosystem, mentorship, and financial support to scale their ventures globally. This conference is a step towards ensuring that our startups not only sustain but thrive, creating employment and contributing significantly to the economy. With the right guidance and backing, these innovative ventures can put Punjab on the global startup map.
Punjab’s Industry Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering a robust startup culture. Government will provide all necessary policy and infrastructural support to enable these ventures to reach their full potential. He also said that there is immense possibility of punjabi nris to invest in startups in state
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema praised Dr. Sahney for organizing the conference and his relentless efforts in promoting entrepreneurship in Punjab. “This initiative will create new opportunities for our startups and entrepreneurs. I commend Dr. Sahney for bringing together government, industry leaders, and startups on a common platform to facilitate growth and innovation.”
