Music presented in ‘Varsha Ritu Sangeet Sandhya’ delighted the audience

The Indian National Theatre  in collaboration with Durga Dass Foundation organized a ‘Varsha Ritu Sangeet Sandhya’ a delightful evening of melodies based on Ragas pertaining to the rains at Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26 here today. The purpose of this festivity was to celebrate the arrival of the rains with joyous music. The artistes of the evening were well acclaimed maestros Jui Dhaygude- Pande and USA based Dr Aditya Sharma.

The managements of Indian National theatre and Durga Das Foundation paid  rich tribute to memory of SD Bhambri IAS ( Retd.) and former Chief Secretary Haryana. Dr Aditya Sharma commenced his recital with Raga Mian Malhar in Vilambit lya set to Tilwada tal. He rendered  a composition ‘Ve Ata Dhoond Raho’ in Drut Teental and another captivating bandish ‘ Gher Aya Re Badarawa’ followed by a  Tarana ‘Udatana nana tana derena’. He later presented a composition ‘Sayian mora re..’ in raga Gaud Malhar in Madhya lya teen tal.

The accomplished vocalist Jui Dhaygude- Pande started her recital with Nat Malhar – with bandish  Barakha ritu aayee in Vilambat lya , Rupak tal and Pavan chalat meha  Megh- megha shyam ghan sham in Drut lya teen tal.  She concluded with a Thumri-“Savan ki ritu aayee.”

Brief profile of performing artists

Dr Aditya Sharma is a classically trained vocalist and teacher in the Hindustani music tradition of Northern India .He has been a disciple of the renowned maestro Padmashree Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar of Gwalior Gharna.

Jui belongs to the new generation of vocalists who has assimilated the best of Jaipur-Atrauli gayaki during the last 30 years. She has won several awards and accolades over the years. Jui stands strongly committed to the purpose of excelling in the pursuit of vocal music. She has received ‘taalim’ from well- known vocalist Surmani Pandita Sheela Joshi and Dr Arun Dravid (senior disciples of Padmavibhushan Ganasaraswati Kishori Amonkar).

Both artistes were accompanied by Vinay Mishra on the Harmonium, Mehmood and Avirbhav Verma on the tabla.
