Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 71, Mohali, organised its second Blood Donation Camp on the birth anniversary of its former Director and renowned educationist, Late Iqbal S. Shergill. The camp was held as a tribute to Late Iqbal Shergill’s inspiring legacy of selfless service, humanitarian values, and unwavering commitment to social welfare. A total of 80 units of blood were successfully collected during the camp.
On the occasion, Sardar Jatinder Singh Shergill, Mentor of the Paragon Educational Society, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Paragon Educational Society’s President Kulwant Kaur Shergill, the school’s Director Fancy Shergill, and Principal Jasmeet Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Fancy Shergill said that the blood donation camp was a heartfelt tribute to Late Iqbal S. Shergill and reflected his lifelong values of compassion, service, and selfless dedication. She added that Late Iqbal S. Shergill was not only a source of inspiration in the field of education but also a strong symbol of humanity and social responsibility. She said that the ideals he established continue to inspire people to serve society with dedication and commitment.
The blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Sohana Hospital. The medical and blood collection procedures were efficiently managed by the hospital’s paramedical team under the leadership of Dr. Gurmeet Singh (M.D.), Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine.
The school’s NCC cadets warmly welcomed all the blood donors upon their arrival. After donating blood, each donor was served nutritious refreshments and honoured with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their valuable contribution.
The blood donation camp will be organised every year on the birth anniversary of Late Iqbal S. Shergill to carry forward his spirit of community service and to encourage more people to participate in the noble cause of blood donation.
