PM Modi extends greetings to citizens on eve of Holi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his warm wishes to the nation’s populace ahead of the Holi festivities on Sunday. Through a social media post on platform X, PM Modi expressed, “I send my heartfelt Holi greetings to all my fellow citizens across the nation.”

He further added, “May this age-old festival, adorned with vibrant hues symbolizing love and unity, infuse fresh vigor and excitement into everyone’s lives.”

Similarly, earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu also extended her Holi greetings to the citizens. In a message, she remarked, “On this auspicious occasion of Holi, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians residing within the country and beyond.”

Holi, a festival celebrated with great fervor both in India and abroad, is slated for March 25, Monday, this year. Preceding the festival is the ritual of Holika Dahan, where bonfires are lit, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, notably the burning of the demon Holika.

Dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is believed to have spent significant time in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh, Holi not only embodies the joyous spirit of the festival but also reflects the timeless love shared between Radha and Krishna.
