The championship will feature two endurance events—20 km and 40 km rides—open to both senior and young riders, marking an exciting showcase of stamina, strategy, and horsemanship. The press conference was addressed by the President of the District Equestrian Association Mohali Col. Sarpartap Singh accompanied by esteemed members of the association Col. Anand Saini, Navjot Kaur, Rishi Mangat, PS Brar, Geetanjali Pal, Aslam Muhammed and Mankirat Singh.
“Equestrian endurance is a sport that tests the stamina of both horse and rider over long distances. Riders must manage their horse’s pace, ensuring their well-being throughout the race, with veterinary checks ensuring horses are fit to continue. This sport demands great mutual trust, endurance, and skill between rider and horse. Punjab, with its rich history of horses and traditional equestrian culture, is the perfect setting for such an event. This championship is part of an ongoing effort to promote equestrian sports in the region, encouraging public interest and highlighting the need for support from both the public and authorities for future growth. Such events are crucial in reviving and nurturing the equestrian legacy of Punjab, ensuring that the state’s rich heritage continues to thrive through modern sporting platforms,” Said Col. Sarpartap Singh President, District Equestrian Association, Mohali.
