
Chandigarh, Rose Zone edged past Terrace Zone in a nail-biting finish to clinch a five-wicket win on the final ball of the opening match of the UTCA Under-19 Women’s T20 Tournament which kicked off at DAV School, Sector 8 on Thursday.
Opting to bat first, Terrace Zone posted 105/5 with Tanishka Kalra (25) and Annvi Rana (23) contributing valuable runs. Rose Zone’s bowling attack was led by Chavvi Bhatia (2/6) while Aditi Sheoron (1/7) and Jaismeet Kaur (1/20) shared one wicket each.
In reply, Rose Zone faced early hiccups especially after Jasmeet Baidwan retired hurt on 25. At 88/3, the chase appeared tense but a composed knock of 18 by Aditi Sheoran helped the team to get closer to the target. The team eventually sealed the victory by hitting the winning runs off the last delivery.

In the second match of the day, Sukhna Zone defeated Rock Zone by five wickets. Batting first, Rock Zone managed 84/7 with Tanvi remaining unbeaten on 17. Chasing the modest target, Ganika Bansal led the way with a crucial 26 and guided Sukhna Zone to victory in the 19th over with five wickets in hand
