Notably, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal recently introduced Haryana Digital Media Advertisement Policy, 2023 policy that officially acknowledges the pivotal role of social media personalities and endows them with the status of journalists. This represents a momentous transformation in their recognition and influence within the media landscape.
Under the Policy, five distinct categories have been outlined for the empanelment of social media news channels, based on factors such as subscribers, followers, and post volume.
