Special drive against consuming liquor

Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 05 cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 06 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-Mauli Jagran = 3 cases, PS-39 = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

On 11.8.18, Staff of Police Post Dariya caught a person indulging in Gambling/Satta activities. Upon secret information, a police raiding party from police post Dariya nabbed one person Prahlad @ Nanu R/o # 441, Charan Singh Colony, Mouli Jagran, Chandigarh age about 31 years while he was calling people to gamble/satta. He was arrested from Raja Ka Bag, Village Dariya, Chandigarh. He was writing a gamble of Rs. 71,800/- on a piece of paper which was recovered from him. A case of gambling was already registered against him. Total cash of Rs. 25,800/- was recovered from his personnel search. In this regard, a case FIR No. 247, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was released by furnishing a bail bond.

One arrested for using fake number plate

        Chandigarh Police arrested Sumit Mankatala R/o Flat No. 232, D-2, Ponta Homes, Zirakpur, Punjab at Slip Road near Ambala Road, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 11.08.2018, while he was using fake Registration number PB-22E-5241 on I-20 Car. In this regard, a case FIR No. 237, U/S 473 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV theft

Sh. Kuldeep Raj R/o # 186, Village-Behlana, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AK-6889 while parked at Sukhna Lake Parking on 11.08.2018. A case FIR No. 169, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Ashish R/o # 26, Village-Kaimbwala, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01BL-0887 while parked near Stairs No.3, Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh on 11.08.2018. A case FIR No. 170, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Jatinder Kumar R/o # 2091/B, Block-27, Sector-63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’sActiva Scooter No. HR-05Z-7081 while parked near his residence on 06.08.2018. A case FIR No. 164, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Nikhil Gupta R/o #1451/A, Sector-41/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AT-1140 while parked near his residence. A case FIR No. 326, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 246, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Pardeep R/o # 44, Village-Behlana, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Car No. PB-65AA-1307 sped away after hitting to complainant’s Motor Cycle No. CH-117(T)-0827 at light point, near Colony No.4, Chandigarh on 10-08-2018. Complainant got injuries and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Sandeep Kumar R/o # 1121, Village-Burail, Chandigarh alleged that his sons namley Harshit and Kashish R/o # 1121, Village-Burail, Chandigarh stolen cash Rs.6,50,000/- from his house on 07.08.2018. A case FIR No. 287, dated 11.08.2018 U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
