Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 60 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 60 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 61 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 3 cases, PS-11 = 3 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 5 cases, PS-19 = 5 cases, PS-26 = 4 cases, PS-IA = 4 cases, PS-MM = 7 cases, PS-IT Park = 5 cases, PS-MJ = 3 cases, PS-31 = 5 cases, PS-49 = 1 case, PS-34 = 2 cases, PS-36 = 6 cases, PS-39 = 3 cases & PS-Maloya = 4 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Parampal R/o # 1471, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, near Govt. Tubewell, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh and recovered 166 injections of drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 215, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for Theft
Sh. Bablu Jha R/o # 1031, Sector-52, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person stolen away juice machine from near his residence on 04.05.2018. Later two persons Guddu R/o Village Badmajra, Distt. Mohali (PB) age 19 years & Sonu R/o Village Koripur, Distt. Sultanpur (UP) age 18 years have been arrested in this case. A case FIR No. 161, U/S 379, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 89, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the statement of Sh. Sidharath Randhawa R/o # 43, Sector-19, Chandigarh against driver of car No. UK-10-6393 namely Sumit Rawat R/o # 54, Sector-2, Chandigarh who hit to Complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH-01AP-1430 near dividing road Sector-3/10, Chandigarh on 05-05-2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Alleged person arrested and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 191, U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the statement of Sh. Joginder Parshad R/o # 215, Vilage Badheri, Chandigarh against driver of truck No. HR-68A-2534 which hit to Complainant’s son namely Avlesh Kumar (Cyclist) near Badheri Chowk, Chandigarh on 05-05-2018. Avlesh Kumar got injured and declared brought dead at GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Truck driver namely Paramjit R/o Jaibhole Road Line, Shop No. 119, Vilalge Daria, Chandigarh arrested and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Jiya Lal R/o # 127, Ravindra Enclave, Baltana, Distt. Mohali (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away his Scooter No. CH-01AV-8728 while parked near # 104, Sector 27, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 148, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Sh. Rohit Kumar R/o # 67/1, Sector-30/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his M/Cycle No. CH-01AN-4935 while parked near New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 162, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 44, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt. Gurugram (HR) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 40, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
A lady resident of Sector-56, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others all resident of Kharar, Distt. Mohali (PB) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 41, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
