A special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 8 different cases U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act have been registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 8 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The drive will be continuing in future. The detail of cases U/S 68-1-14 registered in different police Stations: – PS-26= 1 case, PS/Ind./Area=1 case, PS/IT Park=2 cases, PS-36= 1 case, PS-Maloya= 3 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Chandigarh from near CITCO Petrol Pump Sector-56, Chandigarh and recovered 28 Nips of country wine Marka Rasila Santra from his possession. A case FIR no. 236, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sonu R/o # 2541, DMC, Chandigarh from Sahpur Light Point and recovered 196 Injection and 14 Gram Smack- Heroine from his possession. A case FIR No. 116, U/S 21&22 NDPS ACT has been registered in PS- Maloya, Chandigarh. Accused arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ospal R/o Vill- Kajheri, Chandigarh from SCO No 1023-24 Sector- 22B, Chandigarh while he selling lamon water on public place on dated 26-06-2017. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that someone snatched her Purse Containing Cash Rs 250/-, One Gold Ear Ring, Some Docoments and One ATM Card from Complainant near Baba Dairy Sector- 21, Chandigarh. A case FIR no. 90 U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Jagjit Singh R/o H.No- 269, Gali No-4, Dashmesh Colony, Vill-Balongi, Mohali alleged that driver of Car No. CH01AG-8485 which sped away after hit to Complainant’s brother namely Gurpal Singh near Kisan Bhawan Chowk, Chandigarh.
