
Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh hosted a spectacular opening ceremony for its much anticipated two-day Conclave titled ‘The Bhavan ComMUNiqué’- a blend of Business Summit and Model United Nations. The event – held at Tagore Theatre, marked the beginning of a series of insightful sessions and discussions aimed to promote entrepreneurial acumen and diplomatic finesse in the leaders of tomorrow.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof (Dr.) Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh accompanied by Shri RK Saboo Chairman, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra, and Mr Madhukar, Malhotra, Honorary Secretary. Mrs Vineeta Arora, Director (Edu) and Senior Principal, Mrs Inderpreet Kaur, Principal, New Chandigarh, Mrs Kunika Sharma, Principal, Junior School and Mrs Suparna Bansal Vice Principal, Senior School were also present at the occasion. The event has attracted enthusiastic participation from over 400 students representing various schools across India.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a vibrant cultural performance by the students. The uplifting song sung by the school choir followed by a powerful dance performance, set an energetic mood. An engaging video presentation offered a thought-provoking glimpse into the rapid evolution from the chimp era to the chip era, honoring the pioneers and innovators who have driven this transformation
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig highlighted the need for future leaders to pair innovation with integrity and that if we have to bring about a change we need to step out of our comfort zone. Shri Rajendra K Saboo praised the initiative and its potential to inspire future young leaders. Mrs Vineeta Arora, in her welcome note, highlighted the significance of such events in equipping students for the responsibilities that await them in the future.
The opening ceremony set a stimulating tone for two days of meaningful dialogue, creativity, and spirited competition. The conclave will feature a series of enriching and insightful competitions.

Event Highlights:
Corporate Conquest: Rise. Compete. Conquer
This four-round challenge will test the business strategy, financial logic, and quick thinking skills of the participants. In Monopoly Mania, teams will compete on a board featuring global business giants, answering questions to acquire companies and build their empires, followed by Jeopardy, where teams will select from five business categories and make strategic decisions with every move. In The Final Jackpot round, teams will bet their accumulated capital on high-risk business questions. The Corporate Showdown, a fast-paced buzzer round will be filled with rapid-fire taglines, riddles, and trivia to determine the ultimate business champions.
Model United Nations: Where Words Weigh Like Wars
The MUN will provide the delegates with a dynamic platform to simulate global diplomacy across five committees: UNGA – counter-terrorism and its financing, UNHRC– violations of religious freedom in Bangladesh, UNCSW- grassroots of women’s leadership, AIPPM– the media’s role in Indian politics, and a Crisis Committee with a surprise agenda to test quick decision-making. The event will follow key steps including the allocation of countries or parties to participants, submission of position papers, formal debates through moderated and unmoderated caucuses, drafting and voting on resolutions, and crisis handling.
Sports Wizard: Play Smart, Play Strong, Play Like a Wizard
Sports Wizard is a unique event that combines physical fitness with intellectual agility, designed for students to showcase both their athletic and mental skills. In the Champions of Clarity, the teams will navigate high-intensity physical circuits testing strength, strategy, and teamwork. In The Big Call, a scenario-based round will require the participants to think like coaches and make critical sports management decisions. In Code Decode, the teams will apply logic and deduction to solve riddles and unlock hidden codes. The Veritas Clash will include challenging participants to defend or oppose real-world sports issues through structured debates. The Grand Slam, a fast-paced quiz will cover IPL/WPL, FIFA, world records, and AI in sports.
PsychQuest: Unearth Clues, Unlock Minds, Unleash Insight
PsychQuest is a psychology-focused competition that challenges participants to explore the human mind through research and problem-solving. In Research 101, the teams will submit a detailed psychological report analysing a chosen book or movie based on a psychological phenomenon. In How We Met the Murderer, participants will decode clues from criminal case files to identify culprits and justify their reasoning. The Mental Mayhem round will feature a quiz on key psychological concepts combined with a debate where teams will role-play famous experimenters defending their work. In the Research Symposium, the finalists will present and defend their research findings followed by a question-answer round. This structured progression will ensure a deep and engaging exploration of psychology through both theory and applied analysis.
Shark Tank: For Ideas That Deserve the Spotlight
Shark Tank is an entrepreneurship challenge that pushes teams to showcase innovative business ideas. In the Elevator Pitch, the teams will submit a one-minute online video highlighting their idea and unique selling point. In the Power Pitch, the teams will present a detailed financial breakdown and the feasibility of their product or service. In the Crisis Round, teams will face unexpected market challenges that test their strategic problem-solving skills on the spot. Finally, in the Alliance Round two teams will merge their concepts and jointly pitch a unified business venture.
Moot Court: Where the Gavel Waits for Grit
This legal simulation challenges teams to sharpen their advocacy skills across three rigorous rounds. In Round 1 -Veritas Unfolds, the teams will argue as either petitioner or respondent, with their roles assigned just 30 minutes before the session. The challenge will intensify in Round 2 -The Flip Trial, where teams will switch stances and defend the opponent’s argument, testing their adaptability and legal knowledge. The top four teams will advance to Round 3-Final Adjudica, presenting their case before a simulated Supreme Court bench.
