The couple, who have been married since 2011, reportedly have no plans to step down from their roles, and Netflix intends to continue working with them.
According to reports from ‘Entertainment Tonight,’ Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the co-hosts of the popular Netflix show ‘Love Is Blind,’ will keep their positions on the show despite facing criticism from fans. Despite a petition calling for their removal, Netflix plans to keep them on board, and the couple, who have been married since 2011, has no plans of resigning.
Over 40,000 fans signed a Change.org petition that criticized Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s behavior during the season four reunion of ‘Love is Blind.’ Vanessa faced backlash for inquiring about the couples’ plans for having children. Paul Peden, one of the show’s contestants, commented in an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ that Vanessa might have had a personal bias during the reunion. He added that he already explained his perspective on the matter but felt like the co-hosts kept pressing him. Meanwhile, another contestant, Natalie Lee, defended Nick and Vanessa’s roles as mentors on the show but also acknowledged the criticism as valid. She described the amount of backlash Vanessa received as a “dog pile.”
In contrast to the Change.org petition and some of the criticisms aimed at Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s behavior during the season four reunion of ‘Love is Blind,’ Natalie Lee, another contestant on the show, recently spoke out in defense of the co-hosts. Speaking on the ‘Out of the Pods’ podcast, Lee acknowledged the valid criticism but suggested that the backlash Vanessa received was excessive. She noted that Nick and Vanessa played a mentorship role on the show, providing advice to the contestants as they made their final decisions to marry or not, and felt that the level of criticism towards Vanessa felt like a “dog pile.”
