Emerald Martial Arts Academy successfully organized the two-day 10th GTA Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship at Sports Complex, Sector-56, Chandigarh. The championship was led by 6th Dan Black Belt Master Shiv Raj Gharti and 3rd Dan Black Belt Kavita Rai. On the first day, players participated with great enthusiasm and showcased exceptional performances, following which they were honored with medals.
This prestigious championship saw participation from players aged 3 to 25 years. The tournament was categorized into four major events: Kyorugi (Fighting), Poomsae (Forms), Gyeokpa (Breaking), and Speed Kicking. Participants from various states exhibited their remarkable skills, with many securing medals and proving their talent.
More than 800 players from the Tricity and over 200 participants from 10 different states competed in the event. Additionally, students from 43 schools in the Tricity and 28 schools from other states also took part. On the final day of the tournament, a Tag Team Event will be held, with the winning team receiving a cash prize of ₹21,000.
The Directors of Emerald Martial Arts Academy, Master Shiv Raj Gharti and Kavita Rai Gharti, expressed that the main objective of this event is to provide a platform for Taekwondo players to showcase their talent, gain inspiration, and feel a sense of pride. Additionally, the championship aims to promote the historical significance of Taekwondo. They also extended their gratitude to Khanauri Builders & Developers (KBD) for their support in making the event successful.
Championship Results:
In the 3-7 age group (PV Category), Ashvika Sharma won the gold medal in the girls’ division, while Ameya and Harshita secured silver medals. Dashamveer Kaur earned the bronze medal. In the boys’ division, Rudra clinched the gold medal, followed by Shivay with silver and Divyaj Singh with bronze.
In the 8-11 age group (Sub-Junior Category), Divya and Palak secured gold medals, while Prerna Priyadarshini and Manvi won silver. Dhvani and Shreya Verma earned bronze medals for their performances.
In the Poomsae Pair Category, Avni Katwal and Navish Chauhan demonstrated their skills and won the gold medal.
In the Poomsae Group Category, the team of Rayna, Arna, and Samaira secured the gold medal, while Bani Kaur, Ibadat Kaur, and Kashvi Kaushik won silver. The bronze medal was awarded to the team of Arna Sharma and Uhana Arora.

Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. A terminal at London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security threat. “Safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority. Congress wins all 3 seats in Karnatka by-polls
Congress candidates registered wins on all three seats which went for by-polls in Karnatka. Pathan Yasirahmedkhan won from Shiggaonwith margin of 13,448 votes, defeating BJP’s Bharath Bommai, E Annapoorna won from Sandur with margin of 9,649 votes defeating BJP’s Bangara Hanumantha. CP Yogeeshwara won from Channapatna with margin of 25,413 votes defeating HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
